If you played the Ruby and Sapphire and thought that the generation of games could not get better, you were wrong. Pokémon Emerald is Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire all over again, but with new legend's, the ability to get most of the Pokémon, and the Battle Frontier. The main legendary in this game is Rayquaza, which is a flying-dragon Pokémon that keeps Kyogre and Groudon from fighting again, as they did many years ago. Like most legend's, you have the opportunity to catch it before the elite four, which could help your team dramatically. In Emerald, you can catch Pokémon that you can't usually catch in the other versions, as Seviper is only available in Sapphire, with Zangoose omitted from the game. You can only not catch seven non-legend's in the game, creating a better chance to complete the Pokedex. The Battle Frontier is also an interesting feature. You have the ability to challenge non gym leaders to gain Battle Points, which can be exchanged for other items such as rare candies, which level up your Pokémon instantly.
Graphics:9. The reason I gave Emerald a 9 is because it has very good graphics for a Game Boy Advance game, but it is not the best graphics available to offer. The sprites in this game are actually more recognizable than before, so you can tell if you have a Plusle or a Minun, two very similar but different Pokémon.
Sound:7. The sound does not have much to offer, but it has differentiating music and is not a static sound. Overall, quality, but not top notch sound.
Addictiveness:10. You will not be able to stop playing after you start. For some reason these little guys are just too awesome to put down. Definitely an addicting game.
Story:9. Offers the same story as Ruby and Sapphire, but adds a little more. Overall, a very quality, but a little repetitive, story.
Depth:10. This game never ends. You can get all 386 Pokémon, beat the Elite Four a ton of times, and beat the Battle Frontier. Need I say more?
Difficulty:7. Takes a while to get the Pokémon, put isn't extremely hard to beat.
Overall:9.2. Very good game. I can never put it down, I just have to keep playing. If you like Pokémon, you have to play this game. It wraps both Ruby and Sapphire into one game, so it has to offer the best of both worlds.
