Well it's a simple question, i would like to ask you guys.
why does love hurt so much?, An why is it it's so hard to stop loving someone?

There's always a catch on the greatest things in life.

Love is not always great. Love does not mean you'd be happy for the rest of life. It has a catch, and a price. It can not happen, or it could happen. That's all.

I agree with snow, that loving someone or being loved doesn't bring you happiness. Sometimes, it brings more misfortune.

If you want my opinion, you know that you're really in love, when you feel this pain (sometimes literally) in your heart. If you don't feel it, then probably you're not deeply in love with that person. You're probably mostly sympathizing that person.

As for why it's so hard to stop loving someone, I think this is mostly up to egoism. Love is just like a flattering-worded form of possessiveness! Some people, think that they love a person, who rejected them, but it's mostly because they can't accept the fact of the rejection, or because they want to "possess" the other person. Trust me, I've met a couple of those people, they exist and they're too annoying >.>''

well, you can have the opinion of someone who has been "in love" for the last 7 years or so.....

How much love hurts is based on how much you invest into the person you love. The people you love are the ones you are the most open with and the ones you are the most vulnerable to. So when something bad happens to them, with them, between the 2 of you then it's going to be worse the more you love them.

And the idea that they don't love you anymore when feel as strongly for them as you do only makes it hurt worse.

Also, you can't have the good without the bad. The amount of good you felt while things are happy and what not is in complete contrast with how bad you can feel when things aren't going well. You can't have as high of a good without some really low bad. That's just part of life.

Because love isn't always equal or fair.

Love isn't something you can simply say hurts.

It's something you feel, but can't put as many words to.

You loved a person, to a high degree. But they don't love you the same. I think to put it simply, it hurts because it can.

Love isn't something that's meant to come easy, the best things in life are never easy.
