If you read the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, then you'll most likely agree with me when I say that those were great books.
The game, not so much. I will be rating this game on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest.
Game play
I will go ahead and say right off the bat that this is one of the most glitch infested games I've ever played. These glitches range from small just for fun glitches, to major game stopping glitches. At one point in the game there is a specific door that you have to go through to progress further in the game, and there is a glitch that freezes the game every time you go through that door (there is a way to get passed this glitch, but it's very difficult to do and not worth the time or effort in the ling run). You also have to be careful where you move, or else you'll get stuck. The combat system is also messed up. One: it's slow, Two: you almost always miss, Three: most of the weapons you acquire in the game don't work. The level system is very flawed. You do some thing as one character, and a different one levels up as a result. Lastly, the side quests are just unneeded.
Score: 1
Graphics
The graphics are okay. While you can see some of the scenery (and some are really good), you wouldn't be able to tell what some things are or which character you're using if the game didn't tell you in some way. Some things are just down right pitiful. For example, arrows are just white lines. There isn't much to say about the graphics.
Score: 3
Sound
The sound FX are awful, even for gba speakers. The music is actually pretty nice, when it decides to play. There are some games out there that are just as bad as this one, but at least those other games have music that plays.
Score: 1
Story
The only things that this game has in common with the book are the names of the characters and locations(some), and the basic story line (you must take the Ring to Mt. Doom and destroy it). Other than that, the story doesn't even come close to that of the book.
Score: 1
Length
Glitch-free, this game is short. You probably could beat it in a day. That's if it was glitch-free. With the glitches included, it would take you a lot longer to beat.
Score:2
Difficulty
This game is very hard to beat. This is mainly due to the multitude of glitches and the time and effort needed to deal with them.
The controls are bad and hard to get used to. This game is so much harder than it needs to be.
Score: 10
Overall: 3
This is the average score bases on the scores in the categories above.
