One Holiday season in the mid-eighty's, companies worked long days and nights to get out products, and all the little kids waited for a fat man with a beard to come and leave them gifts. Meanwhile Atari had a new game to present, Stephen Spielberg had got tons of credit for his heart warming movie, and like most game companies they roll out the ideas and created the, at the time, wonderful idea of an E.T game! But, they had about a month to finish it. When the game finally came out a bunch of people bought it and they all either smashed it or asked for a refund, this led Atari to, supposedly bury the remaining game cartridges in the Mexican Desert. And all this ended up in the Great Video Game Crash. Well, that's the history of it and to be honest its not that bad. The graphics aren't very good but, Hey, it's Atari 2600 very early for Xbox 360 graphics! And the sound is very annoying but all you have to do is put the game on mute. This game is not very addictive it's a one-time-play type of game. There is story, you collect all the telephone pieces before the Cop or the Scientist get you. Not very much depth either, just plain and simple. This game is not very difficult, but you won't beat it right away either. I think if E.T didn't fall into holes every step he took and if the Cop and Scientist weren't so hard to get rid of this might have been a pretty successful game!

ET...I hate this game so much, it is the disgrace of the gaming world for crying out loud, legend says that the Atari people took the remaining million copies of ET and buried it in the desert somewhere. Its that bad.

pacman1755 : I heard that legend as well, but it strikes me as unlikely...it strikes me more likely that Atari tried to recycle what they could to try and salvage what funds they could. I think that E.T was always more one of those games that the legend made the game worst than it is...although I will admit it is pretty bad, there are worst considering the circumstances it was made.
