Well, it's a bit hard to tell you about the game if you don't mention something specific. Is there a certain world you're stuck on? Do you want to beat the game as fast as possible? Anything better than "walkthrough, tips, etc."?

If you haven't beaten the game completely yet, then I don't suggest thinking about speedrunning it.

The first thing you want to know about speedrunning SMB3 is the warp whistles. You can use them to jump from World 2 to World 8. This guide will tell you all about them whistles. http://www.gamefaqs.com/nes/525245-super-mario-bros-3/faqs/48484

From there, you just have to master World 8 to get your speedrun down. If you're looking for anything else, watch some Youtube videos.
