Well, what do you all think. Is it ok to cheat in video games, especialy ones you plan on playing multiplayer (I mean unlocking everything so you dont have to sit there and play them).

Personally, I dont like to cheat on the first time around of playing a game.

Dito ther Bobo.
But in some games (after you cleared them).
It might be fun to toy with the rules a little,
to explore new waysa of beating levels (with some cheats).
or maybe just make it look funny

But NEVER at the first time around.

Grand Theft Auto games, I cheat the first time through...

They're really boring to play the normal campaign...

So I just spawn weapons and Rambo it all...

When you are trying to beat in kingdom hearts.
The Alladin secret boss.
You'll need cheating help or like 100 elixirs.
You should have had an, only if it's impossible.

I always beat a game clean the first time (unless it is uber hard like Contra).

For example, I always beat every WWE game clean by unlocking everything because it's more fun.

I like to finish the game first, but in some cases (such as GTA-SA) its a very.. very.. long and almost repetative game. So its good to have some fun every now and then, but not to actualy help play the game.

I usually only use cheats to have fun when the game is getting very boring or repititious, but I never save the file. I like beating all of the really hard games as a sign of my skills as a gamer.

I'm completely against using cheats, and nothing irritates me more than someone bragging about beating a game using cheats...or bragging about unlocking all the pokemon using cheats (you know who you are ).

Cheats are fine if you've beaten the game and wanna mess around with stuff.

Another exception is possibly this example:
The only time I've used cheats in the past 5 years (that I can think of) was on Super Smash Bros for the game cube. My GF and I love playing this game and I wanted more levels and characters and I definitely didn't have the time to unlock them all (i think to unlock everything would take hundreds of hours), so I used an action replay to unlock everything. Stuff like that is a little more acceptable, to unlock stuff for multplayer .

Once you cheat on a game though, that just destroys the replay value and entertainment. I sometimes wish they'd make games where it was impossible to cheat. Online gaming is also INSANELY annoying when people cheat, PSO for the Dreamcast got really bad.

I guess cheating is ok if your not playing the game to finish it. If your just playing for fun or whatever, cheat your black heart out. If not, dont cheat.

Well, in usual games like UT2k4 and stuff like that, I never cheat the first time 'round, but meh, whatever suits your tastes. But in Oblivion... well... Lets just say I'm a lazy moron who nevers saves and ends up fighting 3 Giants only to find out that my HP is around 3. THen I'm gunna be pulling up the command console and toggoling God Mode and running like crap really fast. But once again, whatever suits your tastes.

P.S. Those Giants are effing hard to kill!

I really only play RPGs, so cheats at any time would be pointless except if the RPG is way too long (200+ hours of unlockables...)

You can't return games just because you don't like the game. Usually the only way a a store will accept a return is if it didnt work to begin with, in this case they'll let you swap it for another copy of the same game.

If you don't know if you'll like a game before buying it, read reviews on it. If you still can't decide, RENT it, I usually rent most of my games now days unless I know for sure it'll be a game I'll put many hours into.

Yeah i know about all those copyright laws. but i think if a game is that bad, you should be reimbursed in some way... but in the end it was my fault for buying it i suspose.

Well, in all the GameStops, Game Crazies, and EB Games places, when you return a game within 7 days with the receipt for store credit or a full refund, they give you a receipt showing the game you returned and many times I returned games I hated within a week, and the receipt said "Did Not Like"... Maybe it's just the places you go to, or maybe because they have pity on poor-ass Rhode Islanders.
