I just have a feeling that she killed that little girl. I could be wrong but I just got this feeling that justice was not served.
Do you think the Casey Anthony verdict read today was justice? Because the way our system works its impossible to convict without damning evidence. Which is good, but I think it also helps guilty people more than it should. What are your thoughts on this?? |

The reason we need heavy amounts (more than just quantity) of evidence is that we as Americans believe that a person must be convicted beyond reasonable doubt. Any reason that a defendant is not guilty is a reason not to throw that person in jail or convict him/her of death. I think there are some exceptions to this, but this is the general consensus. Believing that every person has a right to life and liberty, we have made our justice system work to avoid wrongful conviction. We would rather allow a few felons escape than wrongfully convict the innocent.

To be honest, I think she killed the girl. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'll always have a feeling that justice wasn't served today.

What mother could live with the terror of her child being missing for 31 days without telling a single person?
What kind of mother could dispose of her child’s body in a bag in the woods after the child drowned? Everything from pictures of her partying, to the complicated story told about what really happened, seemed to point in only one direction. I don't think justice was served. |

AuraBlaze : " We would rather allow a few felons escape than wrongfully convict the innocent." That pretty much sums it up. Well said too by the way. I'm just frustrated with this whole thing, I guess I didn't realize how difficult it is to convict someone of a crime like this,or that at the very least someone would be punished for this. I'm sad, mad, and confused. I just wanna scream WTF. |

Even if you believe she did it, the point is you shouldn't "Believe" it. It has to be proven without a single doubt that she was completely guilty of the charges. The burden is on the the state or the U.S. government to show everyone that she did it and no one could be in doubt.
Aurablaze is completely right and summed up the U.S. justice system well. It is better to let the guilty go than convict an innocent person. I think she did it. She got off. Unlucky. |

Thanks for the responses guys. I should mention the irony here that, even though I am studying Criminal Justice in college, I do not have an opinion about the murder trial. Can anyone send a link to a summarize the arguments for and against the defendant?

I personally think that she killed the little girl. But technically speaking there was no where near the evidence to convict her... I still think she should go to jail because people want to kill her.

UserMike : Your post just shows that you're the same as everyone else, blind to the truth. You're not thinking with your head, you're thinking with your heart. Don't accuse somebody of something JUST because you think they did it.
Example: If somebody throws something at you from behind, and you turn around with a gun in your hand, who do you shoot? They big bully who looks at you angrily, or the nerd who had a grudge against you for a year? Both could have done it, but in reality (and try to follow me) you DON'T KNOW if EITHER of them did it! That's what nobody understands. Just because you BELIEVE she's the most likely suspect, doesn't mean that she did it. The uncle or brother could've done it for all you know. Don't shoot the innocent. I'm glad she got out of prison early, she deserved it. Spending that long in jail just because she was a suspect, that's retarded. Sorry for my language (is that considered language?) |

I have more than just a feeling she did it. With all the PHYSICAL evidence, I know she did it. How the heck did that stupid jury find her not guilty?
Did anyone catch the Nancy Grace show tonight? When her daughter was missing, all she did was worry about herself. Makes me sick. |

I don't know if this person killed their daughter because the fact of the matter is I just don't know enough about what has happened. I did not follow this case because it did not affect me, and I had no reason to believe that it would. These types of murders happens every single day in every single state, yet why would she be singled out as a suspect for one? The bottom line is I think it is ridiculous to condemn her without knowing, and I think it is ridiculous to jump to conclusions before all the evidence is even on the table. Is this impulsive nature not what lead to many unnecessary imprisonments and executions?
I'm going to stay neutral as far as whether she is innocent or guilty but...I will say that we need to look at this sort of thing logically and not impulsively. |

This was a bit of a shock. I think she did it to. It wouldn't be a surprise to me especially with other charges brought against her such as dishonesty. And Granted I hear the evidence was a little more circumstantial.

I would have my doubts about her guilt too if she hadn't went out and partied when her daughter was missing. Also the fact that she waited a whole month before even reporting it and her Mother was the one that called the police. I don't know, I doubt she is innocent.
