What is your opinion on people getting games for free illegally? Now days it's possible to emulate and/or mod almost any game system - many do it but does that make it ok?

lol. Yeah, it was for CD-I. Most CD-I games are like that. Even Zelda's Adventure has live-action. The other 2 Zelda games have cartoons. They use voice actors.

Other people will buy the games, so I feel fine just downloading them.

Evidently, a game's online server once crashed because more people were online with it than actually owned a legit copy of the game. Yeah, that many people pirated it

Companies on the whole don't gain any profit from past games, with the exception of the virtual games.
But thats actually pure profit for the gaming companies as they already made their money on them.
And some companies really should go out of buisness all things considered.
Unfortunatly the quality of games has dropped alot over the years and the companies don't always allow a way to go and play their earlier games so there is no other way in these cases.

I think it depends on the game and system. For older games and systems, such as the Atari, NES, SNES, Sega, and so on, it's acceptable. However, for games and systems that are recent, like the GameCube, XBOX, PS2, and others, it is too soon for roms and emulators to be made of them.
