Ranks poo= abysmal, dust= terrible, garbage= bad, copper= barely ok, bronze= ok, silver= fine, gold= good, platinum= very good, diamond= almost perfect, priceless= pricelessly good.
gameplay: platinum, the gameplay in this game is very good as it shows that shadow is no recolor with a different personality, he drives cars, uses fire arm and melee, and uses a unique choose your path story type, the controls are a bit slippery, the cars, motorcycle, etc. Can be placed in inconvenient places or be slow, and how melee weapons have ammo which makes no sense do de value the game but those are my only complaints. graphics: copper: everything looks like a budget n64 title but shadow (which is very shiny by the way) , and some of the main animals and sometimes the effects look incredibly un realistic but that's it. sound priceless: sonic games have good music not all of them **COUGH sonic eraser COUGH** but this has one of the best tracks ever just look up lethal highway bg music and see what I mean. replay value: diamond, with 5 keys hidden in 99.99% of the levels, multiple endings to do, a super hard mode, a library (there are thousands of ways to complete one story try and do them all that adds alot of replay) and all a ranks makes this game have a high replay value. overall: gold, this game has alot of good in it deeply in it's obvious flaws a good game is waiting to be appreciated. I recommend this game I accept constructive criticism but not destructive. |

I don't really agree the graphics were fine and good this game was fun but I hated it like how they portrayed shadow guns and swearing! Not a good game but fun

Yeah, sorry, I can't quite say I agree with you.
The graphics were fine for its time. The framerate was 30 fps instead of 60 like in Sonic Heroes but that's not that big of a deal. The visuals itself were on par with Sonic Heroes. the gameplay's like a normal 3D Sonic game in that it's quick and fast-paced, but the gunplay doesn't work out very well and while it's cool to like, pick up cars and stuff, it's not exactly what I had in mind. The Chaos Control stuff (i don't remember what both of them are called anyway.) make the game a lot easier than it should as you would fly right through the level pretty much, and sometimes it would have the opposite effect where you're flying through the stage, and then you end up falling off a cliff because it stops right above a pit of doom. The only thing I can agree on is that the controls are a bit slippery and that the story map thing with different paths is pretty cool. That's one of the only things that I really really enjoyed about this game. The sound was also pretty great and the music is certainly nothing to complain about. The replay value goes back to the different story arcs and whatnot, but besides that it's not really something that makes you want to play it over and over. And agreeing with hackerman, I like it when stuff can get gritty and dark and whatnot but making Shadow shoot guns and swear is definitely not the way to go. |

mdynasty926 : all i can say is that 1. the reason why shadow is swearing and usin gguns is beacause people were crying about sonic hereos being to kiddy and demanded a more "mature game" so in my point of view the sonic fanboys can never shut up and apreciate game (obviously you're not one of those beacause you didn't complain about guns in the entire post) and 2. depending on what versoin you have i guess my chaos control won't stop until it detects a script where it's susposed to stop when your gauge is empety so maybe you have a glitched copy or something.

girachu852 : I don't think I had a glitchy copy but I remember the first couple times playing it, I kept falling off because it would drop me off at the worst times. Oh well haha.
Yeah, complaining fans are always a bad sign. I personally didn't mind the stuff before Shadow the Hedgehog and thought that Sonic Adventure 2 was "dark" enough for me. |

I don't think its that bad, I enjoyed its graphics, it was fine in its time. I enjoyed the game as well, nothing bad about it, at least where I see it. :/

It wasn't the best game to come out of sega, but it really wasn't supposed to be if you think about it. It gave more of a backstory to Shadow and fleshed out his character much more than in heroes and sonic adventure 2. So what if he said damn every now and then? Personally, i think some game series need to be a little bit more mature anyways..i mean has anyone actually SEEN how rouge is dressed sometimes? it was bound to happen. Shadow is a darker, more serious character, so its only natural that a game starring him would be the same. I had a lot of fun with it myself

Your review was good just poorly laid out. I think it needs a little bit of fixing but overall it's not too bad. You should look at my review of the same game just to see what it kinda should be in terms of layout.

It was fun to play but this game has no replay value at all.
I didn't like playing the same stages over and over just to get an different ending . I would have done it if the game was better. Also , the story wasn't that trilling to me ... it was quite boring and the guns got corny when they gave you those really big alien guns to use . |
