I have downloaded a few dreamcast emulators and have experienced problems with all of them.  Chankast - Does not load the games.  I mount the image in the virtual drive, select the drive in the emulator and run the emulator, but then nothing happens.  I am only looking to use this emulator if the other emulators do not work.  NullDC - My problem here seems to be a common problem and have tried several different things but none of them work.  When I try to load any of the games, I get the spinnig disk.  I have tried using programs to make games self bootable, used the utopa boot disk, and tried converting game files,(.cdi and iso) but still nothing works.  It also seems the opening screen runs extremely fast and with horrible sound.  Demul-  This is the farthest I have gotten and have tried the hardest to perfect this because it seems the only one that even slightly works.  I open up the games and everything seems to be working nearly flawlessly, which was extremely exciting the first time I used it until I saw what happens next.  All the games I have run seem to run very well except for the fact that the sound is horrible!  It takes a good 3-4 seconds for the sound to come out after the button was pressed.  It also seems very choppy and echoes everything, along with spots where I believe music is missing.  Other than this the games seem to run nicely and have very minor issues which can be played through.Games I have tried are NBA 2K, Marvel vs.SNK 2000 Milenium Fight, and Sonic Adventure 2.  I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me out with getting this to work.

It would be best to get rid of these emulators, because they are illegal when you download roms off the Internet. I would stick with what Viz zed has on their site before you get into any trouble the police.

I would say the problems are mostly because you're running an emulated CD game on your computer.  The programming for the games aren't always the same as your computer, and as the system the games are meant for has different specs than your computer, the sound and graphics cards of your computer might not be compatible with the Dreamcast games.  The other problem's are with the way the emulators themselves are written, and also with the ROMs that you try to play.  For me, I find that VIzzed has the majority of systems that will work on a computer, and if you don't find it on Vizzed it's either illegal or wouldn't run very well.  I've only tried a few emulators for a few systems, but with the exception of ZSNES on my computer being able to use the ESC menu, and ZSNES on Vizzed having issues with the mouse during the ESC menu, I've found that the vizzed emulators work the best out of anything I've tried.

First a few questions
(Nulldc is the best btw)
Are you using a cdi file?
What are your dreamcast settings (not the emu)
And what plugins do you have?

In my experience, I own a Dreamcast (a real one), and even if you have a good .cdi file it won't always write correctly. If you aren't writing with software compatible with your writing drive, they'll never autoboot. It took me forever to find the right writing software for me. Yours may be completely different.

survyguy79: Owning emulators is /not/ illegal. Owning roms or ISOs you do not own the medium it was burned or ripped from is. Also, while Vizzed is currently legal, all it would take is for money-minded businesses to lobby legislators to change the laws just a little bit and Vizzed too would be illegal. In the eyes of game corporations we are not fans enjoying their work, we're all criminals just the same. These game corporations hated game rental places forever too, and tried to make business hard for them. Vizzed is essentially a digital rental place. Game companies would have everything outlawed except buying their latest games only from sellers they choose if they could.
