While there have been some interesting "what animal would win" scenarios i figured it would be interesting to see if anyone actualy knew which would win.
in this case a bear versus a lion.
yes there is an answer(1 overwhelming reason) but dont get caried away because im not giving the vizz for a 50/50 chance guess.you need to tell me why your choice would win and both answers must be correct.if anyone comes up with an answer thats wrong but pretty valid/logical il still give you 20 Viz.
if you dont know the answer guess anyway,you might get it.

That's a good question. Both animals are powerful predators, but it would just have to come down to sheer strength and I believe the Lion would win. Why? Because the Lion is a fast agile cat even for its size and can even match the height of the bear if the lion would to rear up on its hind legs. The force of the Lion's bite is powerful easily crushing the bone of the Bear's neck. The Lion's razor sharp claws digs into the bear's flesh can basically hook onto the bear. However, I'm not leaving the bear out of the picture, because the bear size is larger than the Lion depending what kind of bear it is. If it was a large brown bear. Then yes. That bear can stand a chance against the lion. The bear's strength is amazingly powerful as well and one swipe from the bear can do some serious damage to the lion even knocking the lion off balance to give the bear a opening. However, if it was a smaller bear. The lion would have the upper hand thus I believe the lion would win. 

My answer? I would pick the lion, because it's more faster than the bear, also more agile. The lion also usually aim for the neck, whereas the bear would just swipe. Yes, the bear's swipe would be strong, but can you imagine trying to swipe when the lion's already at your neck, biting deep? 

Yep this should be in vizzed market, but you summoned the wrong mods lol.

I'm too lazy to post a long reason, but I'm sure the Lion would win due to it's speed.  With its food being highly mobile, the lion has to either match or overcome the speed of its prey and be able to quickly claw and/or bite down to capture it.  The bear, although powerful, is slower.  It could kill the lion if it caught it, but speed has the upper hand in this one.

A lion.

While a bear is no walk in the park, a lion is one of the few I'd hate to have to avoid. They have a better sense of direction, are better predators, and attack to attack, not in self defense like a bear would.

The Lion is fierce, and has four legs it WILL chase you down on. While it's easy to escape a bear (climb a tree or something...seriously,), but a lion will chase you until he gets you, unless you are literally not worth the effort.

I think it would be a lion because of it's speed and power a bear is slow so it could swipe but mist the lion has lots of agility so it could climb the trees jump around and deal a ferocious attack so therefore i say the lion would easily win that is why it's at the top of the food chain

hackerman : well in technicality lions arent at the top because you dont get lions and bears in the same place,lions you get in africa,bears you get on pretty much all the other continents.
Also lions dont generaly climb tress to attack prey.

Disapointing,you all got it wrong lol. Natas was the closest though,il give you another 20 Viz.
You can still get the 300 vizz though.all you need to do is get the reason why.
Il post a link proving the reason why it would lose soon so il give you another major hint to try and ensure someone actualy wins.
Dont think off it in terms of what advantages the bear has,think more of what the lions disadvantages are.its disadvantage comes from what you guys all agreed was what would make the lion win ironicaly enough,its speed.
Heres an analogy.why is a tiger faster than an elephant. how do we get cars to go faster. How do we reduce the fuel needed to send rockets into space. Theres one common factor in all those examples. The result of the factor could be seen if i took something slow,say a van,and crashed it into a wall.
Now lets say i get a ferari and do the same.which ones worse off?its because of the common factor being different between the two.
Besides grabing you by the collar,slaping you in the face and yelling the answer i dont think i could have given it away much more,lol.

Well, I think a bear would win because, although a lion has some fangs and what not, it's bone structure is actually sort of light so it can help with its speed. A bear has a lot of strength, and could easily beat the lion once it catches it.

I'm assuming you're referring to a lighter frame density when you gave those examples.  If that's the case then you're probably going to say the bear would win since the lion probably has either a less dense frame or a weaker frame while the bear has a dense structure, thicker hide and a lot more fat to protect its body.  Something like that would be no match for the powerful swipe of a bear's paw.

as it mentions they pitted a bear against loads of animals so they could bet on the outcome but that dosent work if the bear always wins, i guess an elephant could kill a bear, not much else

Depends, what kind of bear is it? If it's a brown bear (I.E. Grizzly) the bear would win. However, the smaller black variety are at a disadvantage. Why you ask? Simple, weight. Grizzlies can top out at 900lbs but generally average 500lbs+/- whereas a lion on average will max at 400+/-. Black bears normally top out at around 400lbs but that's a big black bear.

So.....

Grizzly (Brown Bear) will take the lion
Black bears (Asiatic, sloth) will probably lose to the lion
