Lions are fast, but not as fast as the Tiger, so if the Tiger decides to flee, the Lion would be screwed because the Tiger would run too fast for him, and if the Lion would flee, he'd be screwed because the tiger would get him in a matter of seconds, however, Lions are stronger, so if the lion would bite out the tigers legs first, he wouldn't be able to run, making him dead meat..

If we are talking a scenario where someone apprehends one tiger and one lion and puts them in a ring, I say the tiger would win (assuming we are talking about the Siberian Tiger). There used to be (like, a loooooonnnggg time ago) a good few forest dewlling lions but theres only one region in india now so they sure aint the jungle kings.
Incidentaly, siberian tigers arent the biggest cats.
These bad boys are:

I definitely like lions.  Lions just have this really majestic look to them.  Their huge mane, they're calm mannerism as they prowl their lands?  I love to see them in nature shows, and I'd love to see one in real life some day.

i think the lion would win, cause the lion has a huge mane all over it head, protecting it from the tigers canine bite, so sense the lion has more defense it gives it a better chance of winning. but the tiger is faster and usally does all ithunting alone, while the male lions makes the females do the hunting. they have one thing in common and it is their amazing camoflouge. the tigers camoutflage is  still a little better, cause it might be 8 fetter right into the forest and you will never see it. so the tiger is the winner here.
