Have you ever been set up or helped set someone up with a boyfriend or girlfriend?


My friend was planning to set me up with a girl he new, but I kinda shut down his plans when I told him I don't care for girls.  Now he's considering setting me up with one of his guy friends.  It hasn't been decided on whether it will happen, but I think he's just waiting for me to agree.  I've heard bad things about people being set up, but I trust him so I may give it a chance.

Well i've had friends help me ask out guys befor if that counts.

BNuge : if youre being set up by a good friend i dont think its likely to be bad.he knows what you like and his friend must have something similar with him if theyre friends so you could well like this person.i think the odds of it going wrong are about the same as in any date,what you got to lose by giving it a shot, youstand to gain a lot if it goes well,if it dosent you can say thanks, ill choose my own in future though, live and learn.

Well it could go either of two ways. Since your friend knows you so well, then he might pick the perfect person. The problem is that he might try to set you up with someone that he thinks is the best for you when in reality, that person isn't for you. Just remember that your friend is looking out for your best interest, whether it ends up that way or not. and he wouldn't set you up with an absolutely horrible person. Who knows you could find the one out of it or at least make a new friend.

Hmm...if it is not too late, here are my two cents of ink on the circumstances.

I doubt however this turns, your friend will wish to have an estranged relationship afterwards, because it is likely they appreciate that things may not work out well. I think you should go for it because better to have taken the initiative and tried rather than turning your back and walking away. I have never been on a blind date, but if a true friend offered to set one up, I would consider it as a viable option since you never know what could happen. In life, sometimes you got to take chances, and hunt for the "One thing" that curly describes in the movie "City Slickers".

And it is usually against the person's wishes, like they may set them up because they know that person likes the other person but the person might not be ready to handle going on a date with that person and suddenly they are thrust into a very awkward situation where they are too nervous to do anything and the date is getting annoyed or bored and the friends are egging them on but they have no idea what to do.

Let yourself get set up.  Your friend probably knows you okay and will make a decent decision.  It's just as much luck as if you were to ask out some random stranger and tried that.

i think gettign set up is fine and i personally have no objections to it i thin kits a good idea but for me i like to get a girl on my own i think it could get too awkward if im beign set up
