So, I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever had a lucid dream, and if so, what happened in it?

If you're clueless, a lucid dream is a dream where your body is asleep, but during the dream you realize you are dreaming. At that moment, instead of "watching" the dream, you are able to control it with nearly godlike power. The trick is to not wake up. (Sometimes the mere realization that you're dreaming will wake you.)

So, a dream where you could control what was going on... What did you do? (By the way, the term "lucid dream" comes from the fact that these dreams are often remembered much more clearly (lucid/vivid) than typical dreams...because your mind is awake.)

I had one when I was about 5 or 6. I had been having nightmares... Monsters, weird frightening places, etc. I had mentioned it to my grandmother one day and she told me to think about it during the dream and realize I was dreaming. She meant so that I could wake up. Somehow at that young age I knew that if dreams are a product of the mind, then you should be able to control them, so sure enough...the next time one of those monsters showed up in a dream, it reminded me, and I sort of took control. I waved my hand and they were gone in an instant. Another wave of my hand and the weird place I was standing in was gone too, replaced by the Dallas skyline. Then I made like Peter Pan and started flying all over the place. Pretty fun stuff. Unfortunately I woke up after only about 5 minutes of the dream.

I had another several years later, which depending on whether you're a Metroid fan, may have been better than the first. It was before Metroid Prime's release, so I didn't really have an image in my head of what it'd look like through Samus' visor, but somehow it happened anyway. Dreamt I was Samus. I was on a small rock ledge in a cave-like space pirate base. Blue door behind me, and some pirates with lab equipment about 10 or 15 feet below, going about their business.

I jumped down from the ledge, landing on one pirate's head and before he fell completely to the ground I blasted his friend nearby, jumped straight off the pirate and back up to my ledge. Heard an alarm going off. Two pirates came through the door on the ledge, and about 3 or 4 more entered the room below. I smacked one across the face with the arm cannon, knocking him out, grabbed the other one with my hand and threw him off the ledge and onto one of the guys below. 3 left. While he was still airborne I jumped off the ledge again, landed on another guy's head (2 left), did the trick again blasting another pirate while I was on the first one's head (1 left), jumped off of him and did some sort of move on the last one. (Don't know what the move is called, but it's when you come at them from above and smash them with your elbow.) Stepped back and took a look and just laughed at how easy (and FUN) it was...and then I woke up. ¬_¬

As long as that description was, the fight was only about 15 seconds from start to finish.

Any experiences of your own?

I don't think I've ever had one. I might of when I was younger, but I just can't remember.

According to Wikipedia, some popular activities to do in a lucid dream include flying (which I did), sexual acts (Neo), underwater exploration, and rehearsing upcoming events such as public performances or recitals.

Interesting idea on that last one. You can create the entire stage, the audience, every person you might interact with in a given scenario, and rather than "God modding" their actions and reactions, you can actually let your brain decide how they would react based on your own actions. One guy who wrote comedy scripts (I think back in the days of Shakespeare) said in a lucid dream that he put together the entire cast of his play, manipulated the performance and even the voice tones of the actors so he could find the best possible way to deliver a given line, and finally laughed so hard at the performance set before him that he woke from the laughter.

Wow.

I never had a Lucid Dream before. But after hearing what Neo did, i want one .

I've had, dreams that, i cant remember fully. But the sometiem that day, or later that week, a part of that dream acutally happens. But its acutally what i seen. Like I might hear someone say something, then i turn and see a bus driving past.
Do ya's know what i mean? Like De-ja-vu

Yeah, that's happened to me. I had a lot of dreams like that when I was a child, and then they end up happening (right down to the words that are said) like anywhere from 1 to 10 years later. Pretty funky.

if im ever to dream or remember a dream, its Lucid. As far as i can remember every dream i have had i have had control over. And i wont lie... They usually involve against the odds situations in which i have to save some one/thing/large mass of people. I think they are wierd but ive never thought twice about them. I just do what i would do... i wake up when ever... But i havent had any dreams in a while now... My nights though not restless... are empty... Wow... now i feel depressed... No dreams. I want a dream...

Same here. Only 2 lucid dreams ever, and I rarely have dreams. Don't think I've had even a "normal" dream in MONTHS.

Dreamless. Sucks.

Right, that's not quite lucid. When a dream goes lucid, you actually know you are dreaming, and like I said in the first post, you control EVERYTHING with godlike power.

All I can say is, it felt really weird the first time I figured out what was happening when I gained control of that dream and blew away the little monster. =P Looked down at my hand like "WTF?" And just started trying out the new powers.

Next time I have one, I'm gonna create Jullinar.

Whenever I had like a Lucid dream, its always like this... Something happened, and I ended up murdering somebody really close to me... Then, I have to find a way to hide it from everyone, so I hide the body, (Usually in the coulee, for those who don't know a coulee is a natual phenomena when a cave collapses and leaves a cliff like structure with a really deep pond in the middle, or something to that effect)... But then somehow I get caught... So I realize its a dream, and try to get out of it, but then my brain somehow like, works against me, and it doesn't work, so I end up thinking I really did this horrible thing... Kind of freaky, until I eventually wake up...

This type of dream has haunted me since i could remember... I've always had dreams of losing loved ones... Usually at my hands..

Interestingly, the way it repeats consistently should make it easy to go lucid. (You mentioned it's gone lucid several times.) Have you tried completely obliterating that dreamworld? Rather than making people see that you didn't do it, just destroy the place and create something you'd like to see instead. Rolling plains, stars, oceans...or oceans of girls or something... LOL

Do you know how to use that power in the dreamworld? I guess it comes natural to some, but maybe not everyone. It's like...I dunno...you just will it to happen. The way you mentally command your feet to walk, you do the same thing commanding everything you see to disappear. Or rather, the dreamworld should follow your expectations. So if you are expecting that something should happen when you wave your hand, then give it a wave. If you think that flight would work by thinking happy thoughts, give that a whirl. Or if you think it's more Superman-like, just willing to go in such-and-such direction, do that. Typically, whatever you think should work...will work.

When I had the monster nightmare recurring...after I destroyed the monster the first time, it never appeared again. I can't remember what it looked like. You may be able to stop that dream from recurring if you destroy the setting it takes place in.

Let me know what happens. This stuff really interests me.

I am one of those that wake the moment I realize its a dream. I have never been given the chance to control my dreams because of this. It is however something I have tried to do many many times (without success).

I get lucid dreams almost EVERY night.
They never seem to be the same thing, however, some days continue other day's dreams.

None of it is human things though.

(Includes flying, superpowers, and things that shouldn't exist did.[ex. Magic])

Sometimes, if I get hurt, I feel it for the next day.

The funny thing is, It never feels like I'm sleeping.
Usually, I even forget I'm sleeping/dreaming.
I can't sense any function of my body, and the senses in my body completely shut off in the real world, and go into the dream world.

My dreams consists of really random happenings. Once I dreamnt that by a mad scientist trying to use my body for various Frankenstein-like experiments. Freaky stuff man.
Though I did have a Lucid dream. One time, and only one time

I was in my Middle School, I was walking down a hallway which seemed to suddenly turn runious, as in the hallway turned to stone instead of the usual hallways and stuff. And it got really long. At that moment, I looked at my ahnds and somehow realized it was all a dream. I raced down the hall way, grabbed the first hot chick I saw and I -
Woke up. DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT!
Why do ALL my dreams end RIGHT before the sexy part?! DAMNIT!
