I think all baby Pokémon are pointless. Pichu, Smoochum, Magby, Elekid, etc. They're weak, take forever to evolve, and the only purpose they serve is to make the Pokedex bigger.

In my opinion your all wrong every Pokémon  can be useful if u take the time to train it for example with my magi carp (considered to be most useless in series) I either use a TM and battle or I enter double battles and keep it out so it can learn new moves then I go train it

Firstly I don't see how Wailord is pointless it is an extremely good pokemon Secondly I had to think about this because Magikarp is a really bad pokemon but it is amazing when it evolves and then I thought Ditto and although it is horrible for battles it is really useful for breeding I finally came to the conclusion that the most pointless pokemon ever is Smeargle you may be able to get a diverse move set on it but that doesn't make up for its horrible stats and basic uslessness
