I would most definitely choose charmander as my starter, then capture a Pidgey and train it as well as charmander to make them evolve into Pidgeot and Charizard. Next I'll capture a Psychic type as well as a fighting for later situations and to top it all off, I'll get a water/ice type for battling Lance at the Elite Four.

Totodile all the way! Once it evolves not only can it learn the majority of HM's but come on... it's a 7 and a half foot tall crocodile! It doesn't get much cooler than that.

Out of the normal starters I can honestly say that I would choose Charmander! I have always liked him, but if I could choose any Pokémon as my starter I think I would have to go with Kadabara, I always thought he was cool and really strong and I would train it be even stronger! I feel like if Pokémon where real though, it would be an awful life for them. I think that governments would just use them for war and have them fight non stop, and that would be worse than capturing them in tiny poke balls!

I'm gonna sound crazy for sure but I would have to have Rattata as my starter. Ever since I was little I loved pet rats and when I got into Pokémon I flipped out because of Rattata. I always caught one in every game and made that thing into a Pokémon fainting machine!! And also because I actually handmade a Rattata Halloween costume with my mother.
