As a kid I loved messing about with my brothers remote control cars and one day he bought a kit and we built it together and while it did not last as long as a shop bought car in the long run at the time we were completely amazed with our achievements.

After this I built an intercom system from a kit and a radio.

What have you built and was it a kit?

I built a robot from a kit a few years ago, when you made a noise it would walk!
I also built a flashlight without a kit, I used a toilet paper tube, a light bulb, some tinfoil, tape, and a paper clip.

I built a talking clock sort of thing.

I still have the pieces. I took it apart again after it broke within 2-3 years of building it. Other than that, I don't think that I have ever built an electronic item.

Totts : I remember building a simple electric circuit, as well as a toy robot car. Those were probably my first.
