Pichu sprinted towards the Salamence. This will be too easy, Pichu though with a grin. He looked towards Treasure Town, where many Pokémon had gathered to watch the scene unfold. He noticed Lopunny among them, and his heart skipped a beat.
Salamence gave a roar, and, with an intense fury, unleashed a Hyper Beam on the forest surrounding Treasure Town. Trees exploded into fiery splinters and the the ground sizzled as Salamence soared past, heading straight towards the Town Square.
Zap! Pichu unleashed a mighty Thunderbolt that sliced through the sky with a force that sent Salamence plummeting towards the ground. Salamence turned its head and looked towards its assailant. With another furious roar, he unfurled his wings and sped towards Pichu.
Pichu leapt into the air towards the fierce dragon and spun around, using Iron Tail to knock Salamence to the ground. Salamence once again tried to get up, but Pichu used Slam, knocking Salamence out.
"You have saved the town!" Wigglytuff announced.
"Yes... yes you have," Lopunny repeated with a grin.
The town cheered, "Pichu is our savior!!!" as Lopunny leaned over to peck Pichu on the cheek...
"Pichu?Pichu?! Pichu!!!!" A voice screamed.
"Wha-?" Pichu said startled and sleepy as he fell out of his chair. Several classmates giggled, including, Pichu noticed, embarrassed, Lopunny. She smiled at him, and his pink cheeks grew redder.
"Have you fallen asleep in my class again, Pichu?" Mr. Chatot said, exasperated.
"Um...no." Pichu stammered.
"Ah...good. Now, would you could remind me what I was talking about before you fell out of your chair and rudely interrupted me?" Chatot asked.
"Oh, well...um..." Pichu stuttered desperate to avoid another detention. "Well, you were saying how important Gravel Rocks are, and you need to...uh... get an early advantage against your opponents."
"That is strange," Chatot remarked, "Because I was positive I was talking about Gummis. See me after class Pichu."
"Pichu, do you know why you are at 'Chatot's School For Young Explorers'?" Chatot slowly drawled, as if Pichu would not understand the question.
"So I can get into the Guild and become a member of an Exploration Team." Pichu mumbled.
"Yes. Now, shall we take a peek at your grades?" Chatot suggested, pulling out a file."Gummis...C. Seeds...D+. Practical...A+. Tactics...A. Sashes, Scopes, and Bands...C. Throwing Items... B-. Class Participation...D-. It seems the only subjects you care about are the ones where you actually battle!"
"Maybe if classes didn't seem so boring." Pichu mumbled under his breath.
"What was that?" Chatot asked.
"I said, 'Maybe if classes didn't seem so foreign'." Pichu stated.
"I understand you are having some problems with learning the basics, but what I'm trying to communicate should be clear. If you fall asleep one more time in class, you will fail Class Participation, and I will have to expel you." Chatot said with finality. Pichu sprinted towards the Salamence.
