Never. When I was little I'd say a bad word not knowing it was a bad word (I.e. I was trying to see how many words I could mack up that rhymed with "duck") and my parents would just calmly tell me that I wasn't in trouble, but that was a word that wasn't good to say, and I shouldn't say it again, so I didn't.

Yes. Our punishments was hurtful. I remember if I swear, my mom tells me to go get the soap and if I denied it. She would whip me and get the soap herself to shove into my mouth and just peeled it off on my teeth. When we was outside playing with the kids and I did something wrong. She would make me snap off a twig of a tree and make a switch out of it and she would whip me with that.

I think I've been punished... Less times than a lot of people. It's almost second nature for me to try to stay out of trouble. I've only had my mouth washed out with soap once, and forgot why.
