The title says it all. Maybe something was going wrong in your life or it was going okay and it got even better. Share a story if you want.

Going into high school, my grades were bad and I was unbelievably quiet. At the beginning of the year I started taking karate. The atmosphere was always positive and they knew exactly how to help me relax and trust people. Around a year later I was starting to be able to trust people.

A year or two after that, I started working as a volunteer instructor and that further boosted my own confidence at the same time. Four years after starting I earned my Black Belt. Now I am a lot better at trusting people and I still love going there.

My friends have changed me in more ways than I can count. They have taught me to be a more open and accepting person, introduced me to a bunch of different fashions and cultures, introduced me to so much amazing music, given me self-confidence... The list goes on. And I thank them for it!!

My Mom is the one who changed my life for the better. I won't really go into all the details, but if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have had a happy and full life. I honestly wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for her.

my gf completely changed me for self confidence reasons... I was out and about and joking and stuff, but I never thought much about myself until she came along.

There has been several people and places that have changed me somehow, in certain matters, like a process, all different pieces finally fit and make a change.
But drastically. It was more of an event, perhaps. Or a choice? An accident?
Just who I was back then, I guess.
Drastically as in the way of my whole so-called world tunring over - I was 15 and had an overdose of several substances at once and after that, I quit. And with that, all of my so-called friends disappeared. So, for months, I had literally no friends, because
the old ones didn't want me anymore and other people I had pushed away with being who I was.
Guess that changed me a lot.
I read more stuff back then than ever in my life, I developed a totally new understanding to who and why I am - I realised I had no clue hahaha. And that was the best thing ever...coz I wanted to find out.

I think everyone has at least a couple of people who have drastically changed their lives. I can think of quite a few off the bat. My first friend (let's call him T) introduced me to many things. It took a while, but eventually they settled in. He also taught me that some people are just because someone is not pretty on the inside...that doesn't mean that they're pretty on the inside. My other friend (let's call him Am) is one of my best friends. I always try to be there for him and he's a good friend to have. Then there's my best friend (let's call her N), she saved me. She's one of the best women that I have ever known. I'll be sad if anything were to happen to her. I wish that the two of us could just be alone.

Then there's the not so friendly people...

Collectively my 7th grade gym class made me feel like everyday was a living Hell. It's as if all of the worst people in the school with the worst teacher were all put into my class. I hate that place. At least I'm alive. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.

And then there's (we'll call them EE and R). I thought that I loved R. It seemed inevitable to me that the two of us would be together someday. But then things happened, things that pretty much changed my entire outlook and appearance (I am now quiet and I speak even less). She taught me that she wasn't the person that I would want to spend the rest of my life with. Also, I wish I could apologize for all of the crap that I made her go through. EE on the other hand taught me that...I don't know, I really just don't like her for the person that she is and the crap that she made me feel. However, it's thanks to our mutual hatred of her that me and my friend N are best friends.

Last but not least is my family. I think that I got my Mother's general nice nature and my Father's humor, good will, and maybe artistic qualities (not so much him, but his family is full of art inclined people).

There are more people like my AP Art teacher who helped me (somewhat just for spite) to become a better artist. I don't know why, she just picked favourites.

Story time! [WARNING: this post is long lol!]

I think the first person that really affected me was my best friend in the whole world Amy. We had been in school together since kindergarten but we didn't actually become best friends until senior year of high school, but when we did we were inseperable. We spent every day possible together. Then there was Dustin who completed our triangle and we became the Three Musketeers. Amy helped me become who I am today. We had the same sense of humor, the same laugh, the same interests, and she taught me not to care what other people think of me. I really wish she was still in my life. I will always love her as the perfect sister.

Then there was the accident... I was going to my first modeling gig, my mother driving, when something happened to my mom that just made her freeze up. First we hit the curb, then a mailbox, then took out the trunk of a parked car in a driveway, went through a 7 foot hedge, hit a trashcan, then moved to the other side of the road where we went through a 4 foot wall, another trash can, then into the back of a little red car parked in front of someone's house which we then continued to push onto the neighbors lawn and into a tree. I was incredibly lucky. It was just down the street from my house and I wasn't even wearing my seatbelt yet. My mom only suffered a concussion. But I remember those last moments before we hit the tree. My mind instantly thought, "this is it. I'm gonna die." and instead of my life flashing before my eyes, all I saw was the tree in front of us. I was strangely calm about it. It was instant acceptance, which was weird. So I learned to live my life to the fullest because it can end at any time. A little cliche but a great lesson to learn nonetheless. It's also the time I noticed the change in my mom. I was still young, but I did not see her reach down to fix her shoe like she told the cops. She lied to them, and my dad, and everyone else who would listen. She had her back against the seat the whole time. I think she was on drugs that morning. It's only gotten worse to the point where I almost deny that she's my mom at all anymore. I don't trust her or respect her and I'm trying to get away as soon as I possibly can. It's made me a rather bitter person.

Then there's my ex fiancee. He was honestly my first true love. We were only together for a year but it was practically love at first sight. Our problem was that he lives in Northern Wisconsin and I live in Southern California... He taught me a LOT about everything... but reality hit the hardest. I learned that no matter how perfect things may seem, they can always get ruined by one simple mistake.

Briefly there's my Deeyanna. One of my current best friends and my first girl crush and kiss. All she did was help me realize that I really am into both girls and guys.

Lastly, and this may sound strange, but my yearly job. I work at the SoCal Renaissance Pleasure Faire and the people there are more of my family than just about anything. I learned how to have fun, I've loved and lost, I've made friends and enemies, but most of all I learned who I am, which is a hopeless dreamer always in search of the things that make me the happiest. I've come a long way from the innocent little blond girl from grade school. But I'm happy with who I am.

My friends did. They changed the way I was and make me cooler. I love it, but I am not going to curse every minute like them.

SexyGamer1989 : Wow, your life story is so much more eventful than mine. Most of use don't appreciate the fact that life is only an instant, and that it can be taken away at any time, especially in an accident like that.

Me, I guess a place that changed my life is here in Southern California. After all, it's the place I moved to and have been at for the last half of my life.
