I've been playing the Ocarina of Time via retro game room, and ever since I downloaded it a few days ago, I can't seem to hit pause without waiting a good 10-12 seconds before the menu pops up. This is particularly annoying considering you have to pause quite a bit to switch out items on the "c" buttons...
Also, the character equip screen displays a bunch of multi-colored static lines where link should be.
Error? Is there a patch I'm missing? Sorry, still new =/

I have the same thing whenever I play. The fact that you can't see Link on the Sword/Shield/Tunic/Boots menu means nothing. You can still change what he's wearing. You just won't see it. The Start screen can be a pain, but you get used to it. At least I have. If you click anywhere off screen then the game will pause. You can always use this feature if you want to simply pause the game.

It's probably an error, but there's not much that can be done about it. Sorry.

I'm also getting the delay problem, it is very possible it is because the way the rom was created or uploaded.

It isn't just the Retro game room that has this problem, I think it's the rom itself. I have this problem even on an actual emulator. Although the screen does not take 10~12 seconds to pop up, but a good 3~5 (Time length dependent on what area I am in). Also, I too cannot see Link on the equipment screen. Not unless I use a different video pluggin. But to see Link on a pause menu means everything else looks like utter crap anyways.

I was right, it is something to do with the rom itself.

The ROM might not be the problem; it might be that the RGR Plugin is using the wrong video plugin. Currently it uses Rice Video 5.6.0 for this ROM; it's possible that 6.1.1 might work better in the next update, however, some image effects can only be viewed with Glide64. Slowdown may occur while using Glide64 though, that's probably why the developer of the Plugin opted not to use it.

As for the subscreen delay, there's a cheat code for this version of the ROM (U) (V1.0) "(U) (V1.2) [!]" if you have access to the emulator - 801DA5CB 0002 801DAE8B 0002, which the developer probably didn't enter.
