So I told one of my closest friends from high school who I've known for like 5 or 6 years and she supports me. I think it will be fine to tell Vizzed now.

I'm gay and I really don't care who knows now that I have someone in my life that I can go to. I also watched a bunch of Help videos on YouTube before I even told her so I think I'm mostly set for general personal attacks. If you have a problem with me, send me an angry PM about how evil I am. I won't report it and I won't really care. It's just a way for me to know to never talk to you on Vizzed again. If you openly harass me, I will PM a mod as soon as I see it. I just thought I should address that since I know there are people in the world who will treat me differently regardless of whether it's right.

Everyone else can feel free to leave a comment if you want. I can name all of the videos I watched on YouTube if someone would like me to.


EDIT: I have two best friends. I actually met the other one around 8-9 years ago and we're still close. I told her a few hours ago too.

I can't imagine how tough this must be for you. With all the stigmas and antagonism towards homosexuals I'm impressed that you wanted to be open about it. I don't know if I could do that if I were gay.

And you let me know if you have any problems. I'll take care of anyone who has a problem with you being gay.

I personally think there's no problem with it whatsoever! It's who you are and you shouldn't pretend to be something your not just because some bible basher or white trash hick says otherwise! good for you BNuge! My foster parents are homosexuals btw so of course I got my share of the "Fun" (we had to move like 6 times cause our neighbors were paranoid morons!)

There are several gay people on Vizzed so this is not a first. Only downside of making it public here is people will now use your sexuality as ammo if they want to insult you in any way. I dont think people should care about sexuality, not unless they want to get sexual with you.

BTW, is this "girl" the one that has been trying to contact you on a social networking site or was that another one? If so I guess you are back friends now?

Congratulations for having the courage to come out! I'm so happy for you, that takes a lot of courage. I wish you the best of luck... If anyone gives you crap for it, just ignore them. You are who you are and there's no reason that should affect someone's life enough to hate you for it.

If they want to insult me, I'll block them from PMing me and report them to a mod which will probably get them banned. I've had... arguments with people on YouTube who were less than friendly. It typically went back and forth with them preaching the Bible among other things and me explaining the inconsistencies in their arguments. I'm not denouncing the Bible. It was the particular quotes that they pulled from the Bible to use in their argument that I argued against. Some of the conversations got a but ugly and ended with me blocking them. I'm used to be harassed online. I'll explain the inconsistencies in their argument and, if they don't give up, I block them.

I'm not sure what girl you're referring to, but I never got in a disagreement with this girl. She has had a boyfriend which made hanging out with her a bit awkward (I'm afraid of protective boyfriends), but that's about it. Are you referring to a particular post I made that I'm forgetting about?

I learned to not let people get the best of you...I have tough skin so I'm immune to all the name calling etc. But it's only you who lives your life...nobody can take that away from you.

The bible is written by humans not god, I think people take the quotes to seriously and it usually causes fights between those who are different then them. There is actually a Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode on this matter, how some nutcase took the quotes from the bible to seriously and decided to punish the gay man himself with probably the same exact bible quote you are talking about.

It's good to see that you are proud and unafraid to come out like that. I assume this must be hard for you to be able to do this. The people that harass gay people are jerks, I would never do anything to hurt someone. I wish the best of luck to you.

BNuge, I will openly state that I am against homosexuality, but that does not mean that I would hate you. I strongly applaud you for being open about your personality. That is something that even I, a born-again Christian, have trouble with every so often. The big problem that Christians face when it comes to homosexuality is that, I believe, most Christians do not handle the subject as they should. Admittedly some do act as they are stereo-typed, but I know that Jesus calls us to love one another as he loved us. All too often, anger towards an action is mistaken for hatred towards a person --there is a huge difference between the two. I tip my hat off to you and the courage you have displayed.
