Wait, aren't Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy VI the same thing, except III is the American release? I haven't played VI, so I'm not sure.

ff7, mainly because it's the only one I really played. got it for the ps1 and played the crap out of it. but I got stuck on a part after the fourth boss........

I would probably have to choose Final Fantasy XII, as I am pretty sure that is the only one I have ever actually played myself.

I'd have to say 7. I really liked the plot, and have played it multiple times. I'm not sure if Crisis Core counts, but I really enjoyed that too. In fact, Zack is a great character. Cloud though, that hair.

I liked all the Final Fantasy Games I played, and there is a few of them up there. But I would have to pick Final Fantasy III. I haven't completed it yet, but I an liking the Job System. In my opinion, it adds some sort of a customization in how the party works. You can have it all offensive, working on warriors and Mages. And then you can change that out of battle really quickly to adapt to the current situation. I like stuff like that. 

I haven't played very many Final Fantasy games. I know I definitely haven't played all of them either. But I did love one of them...the Final Fantasy game for the NES. I know I'll probably sound old school when I say that, but that was one of my favorite games growing up with the NES. It was right there with Tecmo Super Bowl, Super Mario Bros, and the Legend of Zelda. Those 4 were my most favorite.

Final Fantasy III (VI) [SNES] for me, just started and it's my first one, so far I'm loving it. I've always criticized the Final Fantasy series for being "overrated", but ignorance is bliss I guess. I'm going to see if I can pick up Final Fantasy XIII and some of the older ones for my PlayStation 3.

OMG, I really love Final fantasy 7, I played it at a friends house, and it was amazing. Perfect game, I am so glad that I finally played it. I really want it, but it costs a ton.

My favorite Final Fantasy games and the reason. (starting with the best in my opinion)

1- Final Fantasy Tactics
Reason= For the main reason is depth of the story. (Although pretty much the entirety of the FF series are en-depth.) I just think this takes the cake. Plus the job system was really intricate. I love all the characters and their stories.

2- Final Fantasy IV-
Reason= My favorite class/job is and always will be Dragoon. With Kain Highwind being the first dragoon, yea just awesome. Though the story and concept was pretty far out there. With traverse to the moon and what not. However, still decent.

3- Final Fantasy VIII
Reason= The reason for this is going to be short. It was the first of the series that I played. Second I liked all the characters. Story and concepts were pretty good.

4- Final Fantasy VII
Reason= Cloud and Sephiroth rivalry, freaking b-a. Plus Vincent was a cool character. Story was decent.

5- Final Fantasy IX
Reason= Honestly this game actually made me want to grind (and enjoy it). Most of the bosses that were in the game, just made me want to beat the snot out of them. I think I got more satisfaction with beating the bosses out of all the FF games I've played. Though, that being said. I think they went a little crazy with the race creation. Story was o.k., characters themselves was nice.

6- Final Fantasy XI
Reason= When I finally earned the right to play the job dragoon. So much satisfaction. That's really the only reason, and is enough for me.

What's your favorite FF game and why?

My favorite from the main series is FF2 but as far as the side series Chrono Trigger and Dissidia Duodecim are the best final fantasy games in my eyes and as all Chrono Trigger fans know, the first is better than Cross and is the best Final Fantasy Chronicles game out of all.

If I had to rank the main ones from least favorite to most favorite I'd do this (not counting the mmos I've never played them)

my least favorite game in the series this game was a huge let down

2. Final Fantasy 2
I don't know why I just never liked this on and couldn't get into it

3. Final Fantasy 12
Maybe I didn't give it a chance but I never liked the battle system in this on

4. Final Fantasy 3
now we get to the first good on I've never played this on a lot but it introduced the battle system and seemed good

5. Final Fantasy 13
While not my favorite of the series this was a huge step up from 12 and although it can become a chore for the first half of the game it still has its moments 

6. Final Fantasy 13-2
improves upon the first 13

7. Final Fantasy 8
although the most complicated game in the series in my opinion once you figure it out its a good successor to VII I would consider this (among the rest of the list) the first must have if your a gamer

8. Final Fantasy
The Game that started it all a lot different then the later games in the series and more simpler but its a great game and shouldn't be missed by any fan of RPGS

9. Final Fantasy 9
A love letter to the fans of the originals who felt betrayed after the series went from medievilish to steam punk and anime this on goes backwards a fan favorite this game is really great 

10. Final Fantasy 7
The most popular game in the series I do admit this game is awesome and is the 2nd game in the series I've played (other than the first on) its really great and has the best cast of characters however its not the best

11.Final Fantasy VI
On of the best video games ever made I'd recommend anyone to play this even if your not a big gamer

12. Final Fantasy X
This game pretty much combines a story of both the more recent Final Fantasy's with more Machines and scifi stuff (machina) and combines it with a more fantasy setting (spoiler alert) threw time travel this game also represents what final fantasy is about with the combat system which is more like the original and tells a epic story (my opinion has on of the best video game storys ever) My only complaint is the voice acting other than that this is the best game in the series in my opinion 

I think FFVII had the best combination, but FFVIII had a better overall feel to me. At points I felt like I was in an actual war. I felt like I needed to hurry, even though I knew the game would wait for me. That's why it got my vote. In retrospect though, I should have voted 7. I forgot that though 8 was a great game, it lost a lot of points because of how annoying drawing magic was :/

I choose number 4 because it was the first final fantasy game I played and beat and the story is great

Final fantasy six! Its the king of all final fantasies. It has te most eviel vilian in that game than any other game known to man. That guy (kefka) doesnt want to conqure the world. He just wants every thing to burn. Even if that means his own existance. Plus the story is incredibale and its the first final fantasy i played.

My favorite is Final Fantasy 7. It was the first Final Fantasy I played when my friend loaned it to me.

But I also like Final Fantasy 3 and 12. Those 2 games are also good and Final Fantasy 12 was the first Final Fantasy that I bought to myself.

It just have to be 7.

I really liked Final Fantasy 6. It provides a good storyline, lots of gameplay, quality in the battle system, lots of time in one game, and it has many different characters with different abilities and attacks.

FF6(FFIII America), although 4 and 7 tried real hard to win my undying adoration. Fantastic music, first and foremost. You get so many characters you end up making teams of 4 at certain points, and the endgame. Wow. Kefka is truly crazy.

It almost seems cliché, but I definitely have to go with VII. After all these years I still think the storyline is incredibly creative and alluring, and the pre-rendered backgrounds give me a great dose of nostalgia. I know a lot of people say the graphics haven't aged well, but I still think they look great, especially when you consider the technology that was available when it was released. As a 14-year-old who grew up in the Nintendo age, seeing this game for the first time on Christmas in '97 absolutely blew my mind. I think I played it for at least 10 hours straight that first day.
