I want to tell you all or excuse me ...explain my prior post about malware/spyware and my absentness. I recently had a virus on my pc and every time I would try to chat or post on here it would add some script from some third party...Ever heard to watch what you download?? Well hell I knew it all and..well it almost cost me my laptop..Don't ever mess with a "SM .EXE" it's some bad stuff and if you find it in your program files get rid of it ...then when you think it's gone..scan your system 32 folder and clean it...I am done with that b.s. and glad to be back aboard the vizz ship. Hey if we made a condom for a computer..we would be rich..no viruses...lol..take care

Every time I download something I immediately run a scan over it with all three of my scanners (AVG, Super AntiSpyware, and Malwarebytes). I did find dangerous software once when I had downloaded a zipped folder that had multiple programs in it. I knew the folder had multiple programs, but apparently some of them had viruses attached.

It would be nice if there was a universal protection against viruses, but I believe that that's impossible. Virus scanners are always updating because computer viruses are always evolving. Spyware and malicious coftware (Malware) also constantly improve to be able to surpass the latest scanner programs. If someone wants spyware on your computer then they will do their best to get it on. I've also heard that anything can be hacked. Some things are more difficult than others, but nothing is impossible to hack.

I actually had a virus on my computer a little while ago. The guy that fixed it found the source in just a few minutes, but he explained that deleting it would be pointless because it had been on the computer for long enough that it had already produced multiple little files that could regenerate the original file if necessary. The other problem I encountered is that most viruses immediately disable any form of antivirus software along with Windows Task Manager. I couldn't even open it using Command Prompt.

A perfect shield would be nice, but I highly doubt it will happen.

If you want a perfect shield, get a Mac. I'm unaware of any viruses for Mac, my best friend has had one for more than ten years, downloaded ridiculous amounts of stuff, has no anti virus, and never got a virus. Since Mac uses .dmg instead of .exe, there's basically no viruses since there's no .exe That's also the problem though, you can't run any .exe and need to find Mac compatible software. Oh well.

Edit: Now I have mod powers, I think this fits the computer forum better, seeing as how it's not a question or asking for help.
