The 1000 is the original PSP--and the 2000 is the 'Slim' model. I think the 2000 came out with a lower price than 1000, but it just depends where you buy them now for the price between the two. One feature of the 2000 that neither the 1000 or 3000 has is the ability to play through a TV with a component cable.
