In my opinion smoking should not be done in any bars or Restaurants because it's murder Second Hand Smoke Slowly kills away the lungs causing cancer and whoever inhaled the smoke will have to suffer and whoever smoking are the ones who are killing them un rightfully taking their lives from them.

I think they should because the atmosphere just isnt the same anymore...
I miss walking into a pub opening a door and just getting smothered in smoke...
It permenantly looked like a fog machince was on ...
also its really annoying now coz you could be having a chat then it's
"hold that for a min whilst i go for a fag" its just long Smoking Back In Pubs Please =D

I neither smoke nor drink, so I guess it is a bit obvious as to why I do not believe in allowing smoking in bars. Smoking is an action most people are trying to discourage these days, and many of us, particularly those who have never smoked, would like to avoid the effects of second-hand.

No, in fact in scotland youre not allowed to smoke in public places, you have to go to an isolated spot to light up, why should others get your smoke, if they get cancer the smokers are guilty of manslaughter.

I for one don't smoke, but I would bring it back to drinking in pubs. They let you drink there, why not have you smoke there too? Doesn't make sense to not let it.

I love smoking, and I used to enjoy spending Sunday afternoons in the pub. Of course, smoking is banned in most English pubs and bars now, and I haven't set foot in a pub for the last 4 years or so since the ban was implemented.
This has therefore saved me money that would have been spent on alcohol, but I miss being able to drink & smoke socially (outside of my home.)
In the winter months, it's too cold to stand/sit outside most of the time, and I just can't bear the thought of being in a bar and constantly craving a smoke that I can't have.

Yes I think they should bring back smoking in pubs! For one simple fact above all else, America was built and founded by tobacco and tobacco trade. So why should anyone try to control when and where someone smokes. I do understand that some people dislike tobacco and everything about it. But the same people that complain about second-hand smoke will turn around and pollute the air with there cars and other devices. At least I try to help where I can, if I had to choose between smoking a cig around a kid or waiting to smoke. I would choose to wait. But you can see most people that are in a pub are already drinking or doing something to harm there body, therefore why would it matter if they are around second-hand smoke? If they are that worried about it they should build a Family friendly pub or something like that, not ban it in ones that are already there! Sorry to all that are not in America, my argument is mostly aimed at American pubs and cities.

Honestly, I think it's stupid that they forced everyone to ban smoking in a bar. Most of the people that complain about it, don't frequent bars/pubs anyways. I think that the owner should have the option to choose. Sure if they want to give tax breaks to people who ban it in their establishment, fine, but still give the owners the option to choose.

I understand banning it in public places, and restaurants, just not bars.
