Hello, I got a new thread for my new forum .

Now, although it has been nagged at kids and stuff, do you really think they got the message ?

I mean maybe they do now it is good to go green but the main point is :

Do they know why ? Like do they know if we do not take care our world will die ?

Pretty hard to explain really the posts .

I'm sure they know they just don't care. Everyone knows its good to recycle but how many actually do it? Its like telling kids to eat veggies when they want cookies. And since our lives are so short the main key here is "oh what good will it do its not like I can save the world". In a way they are right, going green wont save earth... it might save resources but it won't save earth. Going green doesn't save earth from wars or terrorism or disease or other bad things on this planet that have done the most harm.

I agree with JigSaw. I simply think they don't care enough to actually go green. If you mean kids around 8-12, they most likely won't care because they wanna just have fun and it's not going to benefit them or save the Earth.

Honestly I think I was a lot more conscious of the whole "green" movement when I was in grade school. Just because they always talked, and harped on you to recycle your paper and stuff like that when I was going to school.

In my opinion, no.

Since the beginning of my life my parents, and some of my teachers, have impressed on me very strongly the importance of recycling, and not polluting. I remember even in grade three littering, recycling and even sustainable energy was something I was very concerned with.

If it is taught by parents and schools I'm sure children can learn that the planet is precious and we should be responsible for our actions concerning pollution. My guess is that they don't know much more about it than recycleing.. Some schools may teach more about it but most the time it's boring, because I have experinced it lol but I know more about bills and money and a safer world than any 15 year old I know.

You can build green habits into kids without trying to force them to know why they're doing it. For example, I was raised being told to turn off the water when you brush your teeth. I didn't know why you should, but I did it anyways. Now I know that it helps save water and water is important to our environment.
