A little about myself. I'm older than some of you might think (out of my teens is a good enough clue) and it's been awhile since I spent any appreciable amount of time in a classroom. I used to work at a library, until some hurricane or other flooded my place of employment, and have possessed a video game hobby for quite a few years.

I first checked out the RPG Maker series a few years ago, fiddled with it in my spare time...but never seriously started making a game until last year if you could believe that. I began it in RPG Maker 2000, then moved it to 2003 (which was harder than one would think), and I would think it's about thirty to forty percent complete.

I found this site through a friend who was working on a game in RPG Maker 95.

Oddly enough, I wasn't into video games when I was younger. In fact, the only reason I even got a Nintendo when I was a girl was because the cool kid from across the street had one, and I had to have one too. Also oddly enough, my two older sisters used it more than I did. I guess now that I have my PC I'm certainly making up for lost time. Or at least trying to.

There's a part of me that still thinks I'm too old for this stuff. But storytelling never gets old.

I'm guessing you are in your early to maybe mid 20's at most (that's just a guess, so don't lkill me if it's wrong please). I will only be a teen for a few more months.

Same here. I'm 19, so I literally won't be a teenager anymore after a few more months (although it's my personal opinion that teenagehood is based more on attitudes and behavior than actual age, and it "ends" when the teenager in question becomes mature. In that sense, I probably won't stop being a teenager until I'm in my forties, LOL).

GrandEnchantress, I'm gonna beat Vash to the punch now and tell you not to believe anything he says about the Crazy House forum. That place is perfectly benign and is in no way a secret haven for raving loons like myself, so you should definitely feel free to visit there and chat with us about the random things we do without our pants.

Seriously though, Crazy House is mostly for fun little forum games. It's a nice place, if you don't mind the people wearing hockey masks and wielding chainsaws.

Anyway, we've got some great Flash-based games in the Arcade (link in the upper-left corner)...we've got the Girls N Guyz forum (which is desperately in need of more female opinions like yours)...we've got the Vizzed Battle Arena, where you can get utterly slaughtered by the other forumers since you're only Level 1 and don't have any weapons or armor...we have the Vizzed Item Shop (link in the upper-right corner) where you can buy said weapons and armor with the board's virtual currency, "Viz"...we've got Vizzed Bible Readings every Sunday at 10 'o clock...we've got the Debate and Logic Discussion forum, where you can feel free to flame your enemies until they're roasted to a nice golden-brown color...and we have the Chrono Trigger Remake Petition forum, which is my personal favorite since I'm actively assisting with it. (Oh yeah, and there's the Game Creation forum, which I imagine you'll be kinda interested in seeing as you're a game creator and all. )

By the way, if you get the chance, you should ask Davideo7 if you can help him out with Vizzed Ville. It's a game he's creating with RPGMaker that includes a town modeled after these forums, with its residents representing the participants here. (Which means that when it gets finished, it will likely include a character modeled after YOU. Isn't that cool?) Since Dave is such a busy guy, he'd probably appreciate any help he can get with it, so there ya go.

And you know what the funny thing is? Since you said you've lurked here before, you've probably already visited those forums and knew all that stuff ahead of time, which makes the majority of this long rambling post a massive waste of space! Fascinating.

There's a lot more I could say here, but I'm starting to get bored now, so I think I'll go somewhere else and do something. See ya.

There's a cliche saying that you are as old (or as young) as you feel. It's true. There's a way some people have of staying young and fresh and vibrant. Then again, some people I know actually ARE immature (my sister immediately comes to mind, even though she's in her mid 30s)
There's definitely an interesting mix of forums here...that I don't have time to check out now but will soon.

My introduction to RPGs was my ex handing me a pen and paper and one of his "Vampire the Masquerade" books and telling me, "Create a character." You could imagine I looked at him like I was crazy.

I'd say most of the users on the board are males 13-19. however there are several males in thier 20's. Geeogree is old.... HOW OLD? I don't know. Elara is a female and is in her thirties.

Zylo..... Elara isn't in her 30's (at least according to her profile and what I can guess.) Her profile says 20. You better not let her see you say she is in her 30's or she might actually kill you.

And Geeo is 22 and I'm pretty sure Jake is 21. I'll be 20 in Feb.

I think we use to have a guy that was in his 30's, but he only posted for about a week or so and suddenly left.

It has been interesting, but not many people are on during the hours. Like sometimes hardly anybody is on during the day. The board at least gets 30 or more post a day, but we are still active not abandoned. Nice to see someone else join. Glad that you can be here.

Wow, so many people posting in here, I must say something....Hi, age doesn't matter in here, it's how your brain works and everyone has a good brain, sometimes stoney doesn't have a brain at all, but it's all good. The active poster ages....I'm only 15....But I am still cool v. Enjoy this site.
