Shenmue 3 will be released on one of the next-gen systems. And as a matter of fact, it's suppose to contain the ENTIRE series...not sure if they will call it Shenmue 3 if it contains the entire series, but the impression I got is that it will be called Shenmue 3, or they might re-released Shenmue 1 and 2, along with 3 all together on one of the next-gen systems. Either way, all of us Shenmue fans will get to play the conclusion to the entire Shenmue series, and also people new to the game will have a chance to play the entire story aswell.
They say the series is already complete (or almost), and is waiting to be ported to one of the next-gen systems...and there might be a possibility that it could be ported to all 3 (revolution, 360, ps3).

The overall good news is, Shenmue III (or the entire story) WILL be released, and probably within a year or so I'm predicting.

Further reading, it seems that XBox 360 will have the best chances of getting the new Shenmue game, however, there's still a possibility that the other 2 could get it, or that all 3 could get it.
