I'm not sure if this has been answered before or if I'm the only one who has ever gotten the problem. but whenever I try to open Zelda ocarina of time the audio fails to load. does anyone have a solution to this?

Many N64 games are problematic for different people based on their computers abilities. Have you tried using a different browser? I have Windows Vista and I use Google Chrome. I just bought it and loaded it myself and the audio worked fine. Try using a different browser. If that doesn't work, say so and also mention what type of OS you have (either Mac or Windows, if Windows then which one).

I can assure you Zelda OoT works fine, I've been playing it in Chrome. I normally use FF for everything but I found out that Chrome is the most stable browse to play games around here. If you keep having such error even when playing w/ Chrome it's probable that the problem is your PC

toeragg89 :
I don't have Windows 7, so I can't speak for that. The only other browser to try is Mozilla Firefox. I'm really not sure what else to say. It might just be your computer. Some computers don't have the capabilities to run the games. It's not always based on the OS alone. Sometimes it's the video card or something else. I don't know much about the video card so I can't help much with that either.

hypermonkey : DarkHyren told me you were another good person to tag for tech help. Do you have any ideas about what the source of this problem could be and how to fix it?

I tried Chrome and safari and actually ended up with more errors all revolving around this:

Failed to load audio
plugin:C:usersownerappdatalocallowvizzedRgrNintendo64plugin1964Aud.dll

I tried looking up that file but it wasn't there (thus the problem? lol) I'm not sure what else to try I've reloaded the plugin like 5 times now.

KaidaSeren :
I just thought of something to try. I've seen issues that relate to files on your computer, but I'm not positive this is the same issue.

Find your "Temprorary Files" folder. On Vista or 7 you should be able to type:
"temp" into the search bar in the Start Menu. This folder will probably have a ton of little files (usually measured in kilobytes which means they're tiny). Check among these files for something with a title similar to:

1964Aud.dll

That's the file you listed in your post. Also, check the folders within the temp folder for any of the following:

users
owner
appdata
locallow
vizzedRgr
Nintendo64
plugin

Those are all the folders in the file path you provided. If you find any of the things I listed, comment back and say so. Make sure you summon me if you're replying to me. To summon, type my User then immediately follow it with a colon. Ex.

BNuge:

It will do the link and color edit automatically when you click submit. I removed the tag myself so you could see what it looks like. If you don't summon, I'm less likely to notice your response and come back to this thread.

That's all I've got for you for now. Let me know if I can help or if you find something new.

I've got no clue about this one. I can't recall hearing this problem before, but I'll let the other RGR staff know about it.

Personally, I've got Vista, and OoT works fine for me in IE, FF, and Chrome. The only suggestion I can give is to try downloading the plugin using a different browser than what you used before. I don't know if it'll make a difference, but you never know.

hypermonkey : Do you have any suggestions on who would be good to summon. I'm just looking specific tech people for general stuff. I'd like to not be summoning the same person constantly.

geeogree : How about you? Do you know anything about this audio problem?

OK, just to make sure, you have installed the plugin in Chrome too and yet it doesn't work. And you have also reinstalled the plugin and nothing happened. There's a last thing that maybe you want to try. You'll have to buy the game again so be aware this will cost you more Viz.

Go to "C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataLocalLowVizzedRgrRomsGAMENAME.zip"

* the AppData folder is hidden. To unhide it open a folder and in the menus got to TOOLS then FOLDER OPTIONS then click the VIEW tab. Now about 9 lines down put a tick in the SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS option. Then click APPLY, then OK *

Once you get there delete every file related with the game. Now go to "C:Documents and settingsownerlocal settingsapplication datavizzedrgrDownloads and look for the game file and any other files that match the game name and delete those too.

Buy Zelda OoT and wait for it to load completely. Don't try to stop the game loading nor close the browser window. If it loads properly, when you want to leave the game make sure to close the emulator properly by click the close button in the emulator window before clicking the browser close button. Let us know if it worked

I clearly don't have much of a clue on tech problems and I'm not sure if I missed it in an earlier response, but what exactly is the problem like? I know when I go to open the game, it loads sometimes (actually i think every time) with gray/no video but sound works. I just exit out of the game, re-enter and reset the emulator and usually any audio/video discrepancies I have on any game is fixed.

danielbelitch : The problem was that an error came up everytime I opened the game it said Failed to load audio and then the game would load normally without sound. What I think the problem is, is that the appdata file wasnt under owner but instead under users so the pathway wasnt correct. but to be totally honest Idk if thats what it was or not since my comp crashed and I had to restore it completely.
