Upon careful consideration and lots of research in the form of watching the previews, I have formed a subjective, unbiased opinion of the Narnia movie. And that opinion is: YES.

Have you read the books? I downloaded the whole friggin' series on PDF 2 days ago, and read the first book in one sitting. (That says a *LOT* for me because I *HATE* to read!) Then last night, I read the whole 2nd book and am now in Chapter 2 of the 3rd.

These books aren't nearly as long and intimidating as the Lord Of The Rings, so I really suggest giving them a try. (LotR takes so long to read because it reads like the Bible...Judging by their writing styles, it's hard to believe that CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien even lived at the same time...let alone being such close friends!)

Anyway, the only thing that bugs me about the Narnia movie so far is the somewhat simplistic designs of shields and armor. CS Lewis went into VERY little detail on how the characters looked and never specified characters' colors outside of their hair color (and sometimes not even that). This left a lot of creative freedom that doesn't seem to have been taken, at least judging by Peter's armor in the preview clip where they stand enthroned at Cair Paravel. But anyway.

Yes, I've read the books. They're great. But don't be fooled: the books may be short in length individually, but when combined they create a hefty page count.

I remember a long time ago when Disney made a live-action version of Narnia. I watched it on the Disney channel with my sister: she still has fond memories of it, but I don't remember it that well. Here's hoping this version of the series is at least as good as that one, if not better.

Well, both versions are by Disney, so I'd bet it'll be pretty good.

You know what I find strange though? Narnia...and Disney. Anyone else see the mismatch already? CS Lewis was a strong Christian and the themes of Narnia are deeply rooted in Christianity... The world's top Christian music artists are scrambling to create songs for this production, the Christian radio stations can't play commercials for this movie often enough...and yet Disney is a strongly, dare I say VICIOUSLY atheistic company that has a nasty habit of ridiculing Christianity in print. So far the only example I've seen of that here is a gruesome misspelling of Christian music artist Steven Curtis Chapman's name (calling him Stephen Curlin Chapman on the "Music Inspired By Narnia" website), and that's a minor and excusable mistake. Has Disney decided to take Christians seriously for once? Or maybe they're just cashing in on our potential money.

The latter. They're a corporation: corporations only have one thing on their minds. And no, that's not an exaggeration. They saw the phenomenal success of Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ and Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings, and thought to themselves, "Hey! We can pander to BOTH these demographics and combine their success together!"

I'm officially the three-thousandth viewer of this thread. Do I get a prize?

Ok. It is pretty much confirmed now. The member called "Saridon" of the Chrono Compendium forums has agreed to help us out. He is actually helping out with more artwork than I had thought. He has taken three of the jobs; half of the available artwork for use. These are the jobs, and those currently doing them:

To be honest, I was a little scared when I saw just how much you all seem to adore the series. Truth be told, I actually never even HEARD of the series before both the announcement of the movie and of the video games. I never read any of the books... or have any knowledge on the series itself. Not only that, but I wasn't even really that interested when I heard of both the movie and the video games. I just thought it was 'just another generic midevil-based movie'.

Perhaps a little too brutally honest, but one can not show interest in something they know nothing about.

No, I can understand, Apoc. I felt the same way about the Lord of the Rings before the movies were released. And I didn't read the Narnia books until recently. But I just saw the previews and thought, "Holy crap, that looks fantastic."

My parents read me the entire compilation when I was a kid. I can't even count how many copies of the series we have in our house (That's a lie. I think it's four).

Apoc, all is forgiven if you at least know who CS Lewis is.

The story may seem a little too generic-fantasy, if you will, but I think it's the Narnia blueprint that many fantasy stories (including the typical fantasy RPG) are based off of.

That's good news on the graphics. I realize today is Thanksgiving and the site is still not ready, but 1) the graphics aren't ready anyway, so we're still not ready regardless of whether Nathan's changes were made yet or not, and 2) many people already know about the site anyway, so, eh...who cares?

We actually should be recieving some artwork soon. It seems Saridon has already finished with one of the three pictures he chose to work with. He'll be emailing me them. I'll post them for you guys to look at once I recieve them. I doubt we'll have all six by our "launch", at this rate, but we might have at least three.

By this point I think we should go with as much as we can get for the launch and be happy with that. Especially considering we don't really have a choice. I guess there wasn't much point to this post. Sorry.
