Which one of theses musical eras was the most influential and well known and your favorite?

I personally like the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, the 00's doesn't have a lot of good stuff.

The 00's had tons of great stuff if you dug. I mean... That was the decade that gave us fantastic metal gems like ...(an actual band. They play depressive black metal), Gorguts's Obscura album, many of Immortal's fan favorite albums, probably a good bit of the Chinese black metal scene(could be wrong), and tons more. Also... Emilie Autumn put out great stuff in that decade.

The decades before it were, obviously, more influential, but I prefer the 00's and 90's. I don't understand why people seem to say the 00 decade was terrible. It was great. It seems like most people who don't consider the good underground of that decade always have a love for the mainstream radio rock stars of the classic rock station standard eras. This is just an observation of mine.

I also just feel so much overratedness from many of the bands that get praise and are from before the 80's. Example: Led Zep. Good band, mood is somewhat hurt by the fans. Same with the Beatles and Queen. I find Queen too overrated to have the same issue as Led Zep has, though. Talented, but they try too hard to make radio hits. They also put the guitar on the backburner. I find that annoying.

The Beatles are a great band, and are very important to rock music, but what about Muddy Waters's song Mannish Boy? What about Elvis, and Chuck Berry? The song Mannish Boy is the reason rock has that repetitive guitar riff thing. The rockabilly bands get tons of credit, but what notice do they get when it comes to importance? Not much. The Beatles's fanbase is a huge eyesore for some. Many of the fans somehow only keep themselves from making violent insults towards non-fans just because John hated violence. The fans also act like religious missionaries in how they talk about the band. They will say the band's name, and then begin talking about how there's something for everyone in their music. Not really...

I just can't listen to classic rock without having memories of the fans who make it look bad pop into me head. Especially that guy who said how much better classic rock is because it is happier... Okay, so songs protesting war are about smiles now? *facepalm*

KlawedFlaw : Guitars are overrated. A great guitarist once said "I hate the sound of guitars." I'm not sure what that has to do with anything but, whatever. I love the 90s. I mean, I really don't discriminate decades, however, I grew up in the 90s and many of my favourites happen to be from this time that it holds a sentimental value to me. That being said, the 00s weren't much to brag about compared to previous decades. ANYONE can be a musician nowadays. Music has lost a lot of its charm and progression.

After a lot of thinking, I had to decide between the 90s and the 60s. I choose the 60s. Why? Some of my favorites are from the time period, mainly The Beatles, some songs from the Jackson 5, Cream, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, etc. This time period had a lot of revolutionary songs meant to show us what was happening at the times like what was happening during the Vietnam War. This is why I choose the 60s.

None of these. This upcoming electronic dance scene is making me excited as hell for the future. I am a bass head for sure. Gotta have my dirty nasty modulated basslines.
