Everyone who say yes please keep in mind that if you are old enough to watch those shows, then your old enough for Cartoon Network to not market them shows towards you. I bet in years to come that kids in this generation will miss the shows in this generation.

From a personal perspective I guess I would like them to bring back all the classics (I loved Ed,Edd and Eddy) but it wouldn't make much sense for them to bring them back.

I think that most of the people on this thread are a bit too biased. Everyone just assumes that their generation of cartoons was the best. We are going in a downward trend and the programming is becoming less and less intelligent, that much is true, but if that's the case, then that would mean what we had was lesser than what our older brother's or parents had. What do you think kids from the 80's who grew up on early nickelodeon shows thought when their favorite shows like Rocko's modern life got replaced by a retarded talking sponge with no brain activity who works at a crappy burger joint for the whole day? Or when someone was on Cartoon Network watching their favorite older stuff like Johnny Quest and suddenly they have to watch a show about 3 retarded socially inept 13 year old's doing nothing of value? That's just how it is. Cartoon Network isn't made for high school kids or young adults who probably only tune in occasionally at random, they want a younger, dedicated, audience of around 5+ who will watch their programs 24/7 and I don't think current 5 year old's want to watch a show about a trio of idiots doing stuff they don't relate to or care about in older animation that they don't appreciate, when they can watch a new age cartoon with shiny new graphics, more special effects, and easier to understand characters. It would be a waste of CN's time to try to draw in an aging older audience who most of the time, will not watch cartoons because they are for kids. There is no money in that. Let's be honest, if they brought back all the stuff that you loved, would you really tune in everyday for all of their programs and buy their toys and visit their website and ...etc, or would you rather watch other programs that you happen to enjoy just as much or even more that are made for your age group, that is meant to appeal to you? What would be an interesting idea, is to make cartoonnetwork teen channel where they rebroadcast popular cartoons from 1998 to 2005 along with new shows and revive some popular programs (i.e toonami) but put new stuff in the line-up that teens would appreciate. Maybe they could kick it off by airing a new episode of each old cancelled cartoon which would entice alot of people of out age to tune in but just 1 new one would be fine, and I wouldn't expect them to do more new episodes of a cancelled show. But yea, so also shows that are still broadcasting on regular CN that are popular among teens like adventure time Mad TV and Regular Show could either broadcast on CNteen as well, or switch directly over to CNteen and become exclusive to that channel. And having a teen channel would allow them to have more enjoyable programming that teens like that doesn't have to worry about the restrictions of being on a children's network so it's content would be less restrictive and better. So new cartoonists wouldn't have to worry when they're making their cartoon "is this okay for a 7 year old to see?" but instead, "would a high school student or young adult enjoy this or is it just a bunch of kiddie junk?" Well, this is just my opinion and as such everyone is entitled to their own.

T...t..too many words...approaching brain overload.

But I do see your point. While some cartoons may seem good when you're a child, watching them again when you're older makes them seem lame or bad compared to today's stuff.

BUT, hey, Scooby Doo's been around since the 60's. Transformers has a new series decades after the 80's cartoon. Heck, even Looney Tunes has a new series. A revival of some old cartoons could be decently-handled, if CN decides not to rerun shows.

As a kid, one of the most anything thing about cartoons are the fact that they keep getting re-run. I remember watching Dragon ball Z as a kid all the time here in the UK, but the show didn't get any new episodes for a hellava long time. It would just loop from just after the Frieza saga back to the first episode again. This happened at least 3 or 4 times before getting new episodes. In the end I couldn't stand watching the first 30 episodes since I knew them inside out

Yep, exactly what deathblade said, boomerang is the exact network for the old school cartoons and for the older people who still love those cartoons.

Of Course!

I remember myself watching Johnny Bravo and Ed Edd n Eddy...I remember too myself crying when the cable operators changed CN for Nickelodeon...

Anyways...I like watching some of the new series like Adventure Time,Chowder...

But all those are nothing compared to the old ones...

I think they should make a Cartoon Network Teen channel like what Nickelodeon has. Call it CNTeen or something. Bump the limit up to TV-14 from TV-PG to allow more room for creativity. Migrate some most of the popular CN shows from the 90s to early 2000s and migrate some on-going shows to the channel that are popular amongst teens and possess a dangerous amount of innuendo, like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and MAD, add some original programming, and your set. I think that's what should happen. I think this would be the greatest thing since sliced bread(lol bread). This way the show creators are under less restriction and they wouldn't have to worry about whether or not a 7 year old can see this without getting sued for being inappropriate, and really be funny. They'd only have to worry about being TV-MA. Or maybe, at night, they could do like Adult Swim and feature all the TV-MA shows that they wouldn't show during the day. Cartoon Network stays for kids, and people around our age have a channel where we can enjoy programming for our age that is still cartoony and fun. this is just a random idea that I've thought about from time to time of course, but I think this would be pretty popular. Oh, and of course they could re-add Toonami, or add a new anime segment. but make it sleek and cool like Toonami because Toonami was beast.

While old shows are great and there will always be a place in my heart and on my DVD shelve I believe that channels main goal should be promoting and making new shows. That channels should be constantly moving forward rather being stuck in the past. Not all of these shows will be good that's true and some will suck but some of them will also be great and those new shows should still be made.

So I do not believe Cartoon Network should bring back it's old shows.
