So... I'm attempting to get started on my Halloween costume early this year, because whenever I don't, they tend to either end up horrible, or they aren't how I'd like them to be.

This year, I'm attempting to do a costume of Ruby from Pokemon.
...Yes, the one from the advance games with the annoying hat.

Well, for the most part, I have my blueprints down for the costume.
I don't really know how to sew, but I think I have enough time to figure it out.

The only problem I have, which I need help with, is the hat.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO HERE. (Because of the white part of the hat.)

Any suggestions and/or help would be appreciated.

(Also, it's for a party, and I've been gone for a while because life.)

For the hat, my suggestion is making the white part first. and yes it would take sewing but it'd be an easy stitch with a machine. Take 2 pieces of white fabric, making sure the base fits around your head with a bit of extra room to sew. Then make the 3-5 points. Then you pin it together and sew the edge. And for the band make 4 strips the length of half your head and sew 2 and 2 together and turn both inside out. Then sew the edges together. then turn it inside out that way its smooth. Then sew the white part onto it making sure the edges on that are smooth as well. as for the design take the white or red fabric you used before and cut out a half circle design like the original and sew it on the front part of the band. I suggest doing this before sewing the edges together on the band.

I hope that helps. I suggest getting some lessons on sewing if its your first experience sewing. Its harder then it looks. I learned from my mom. Any other questions just ask me and I'd be happy to help.
