Hot on the heels of last week's rumor that the Revolution might include 3D technology is a rebuttal saying that it won't. It comes courtesy of an anonymous former Nintendo employee who is now developing games for his former employer's next-generation console. Besides trashing the 3D rumors, the ex-Nintendite reveals many features about the console. He or she says the Revolution will have wireless pressure-sensitive controllers that will add a new level of force feedback. "It will be sort of like controlling a game with one of those stress balls," said the source. "You squeeze it, and you go faster." The source also said the Revolution "will also include voice control more advanced than anything seen so far," and it will come with wireless headsets. He also said the Revolution will come with an online service superior to Xbox Live...but totally free. "The only way I can describe it is as an Internet service," said the poster. "Imagine turning it on and checking your mail on the system. You see previews and demos of DS and Revolution games that you can download. A magazine similar to Nintendo Power will be exclusive to the system, and you will be able to access it on the Revolution’s home page." The source also said that besides Nintendo, which has at least seven next-gen titles in development, Capcom, Namco, EA, Sega, Zoonami, and Activision are all currently working on Revolution games. However, the poster remained coy about what the exact "Revolution" would be. "I’m not going to tell you the revolutionary aspect of the system. Nintendo has some cool pre-E3 plans for that."

The Revolution stuff is quite interesting. Also I got the EGM Mag with Zelda and it has sone Revolution stuff as well.

OOOOOO!!!! Ownt. this is why the gamecube failed. No similar name prior models!!!! The same thing happend with teh Dreamcast. Should of been called Segacast!!!!!!! DS will also fail because of this!!!!

Sure Remlee you keep thinking that. And besides Revolution isn't the final name. And it's the Nintendo Gamecube. So that part of your theory is bad as well.

Also the Nintendo DS is a third pillar. It isn't the next Gameboy.

The first is a fan made video kinda cool just not really news. The second shows how big the Revolution is supposed to be. And compares the size to the GCN.

Unless this plans to be all wireless, its only gonna have 2 controllers? thats suicide for nintendo.

Wireless controllers are standard on the system those two circles are just there. Hopefully by tomorrow night we will have official pics of all three systems.

It has come to my attention that lately theres been alot of bashing on the new consoles, I think we all should try to lay off it.

Also remlee maybe Nintendo is the only one who can actually come up with a creative name for their console, naming in sequels isnt going to increase sales or generally how good a console is.

Thats very interesting, if Nintendo can provide an online gaming service with good games as good as Xbox Live for free, then we definitely shouldn't just write Nintendo off. I think online gaming is going to be a huge factor in the success/failure rate of the new consoles.

Yeah if they can do that it will go a long way. Of course that wouldn't stop third parties from charging to play their games, but if they go with a totally free one most first and second parties would be free to play I think.

Also don't forget that the service is suppossedly wireless.

Yeah online gaming will be huge this next gen.

But yeah I like the new names. And as I said that still isn't the final name.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

The only technicly new name is Gamecube you flippinidiot. Nintendo copied 3-4 generatiosn of the same name. They couldn't even keep the company name out of it. Playstation is alot better then Sony, Super Sony, Sony?, ad then Sony Rectangle. To me xbox 360, the name represents xbox going from bulky to small. Playstation 3 is the third installment, Nintendo just trys to advetise within its own products. Nintendo is more out for teh dollar imo then any other place. Yea sure they charged yes but the finished products were worthless(N-64 and Gamecube). Revolution is supposed to be an apology for these atrocity of systems. N-64 and gamecube definately didn't live up to their opposing counterparts. Unless this system is is better then a Xbox360/PS3 combined it doesn't make up for them.

Yea sure you can say N-64 and Gamecube werent let downs but you'd be lieing to urself. N-64 wih the exception of SSB and Ocarina of Time pretty much was good cuz of names(like Mario 64 was a horrible game i don't care what anyone says, Mario is a 2-d platform and should only be one). Nintendo is now the simpsons of gaming with the gamecube which was definately targeted towards younger kids with titles like Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, and Luigi's Mansion.

To put it frank. Nintendo=Simpsons(Now young teens and kids) Playstation= Family Guy(For Teens+) and X-box=King of The Hill+ Futurama(For Teens+).

Just because you think that the 64 and GC were let downs doesn't mean they are. And Mario 64 was a great game. You forget the 64 also had Goldeneye 007. What about Mario Kart 64.? Those were both pretty good just to name a few. Just because every game doesn't havve bllod, swearing, violence, and nudity doesn't mean that is marketed toward kids. Like before the ned of the year my roomate and one of his freinds and I spent around two hours playing Super Smash Bros. Melee. My roomate got hooked on Mario Power Tennis.

Playstation-Playstation2-Playstation 3, wow look at Sonys wonderful console naming system. I dont think any company is going for money more than any other because THAT IS THE OVERALL PURPOSE, Sony and Nintendo dont make consoles just because they feel like it or wanna make their fans happy.

You can generlize a console by the rating of its games but just because majority of games for a console have a everyone rating doesnt mean the console cant do well with Teen,mature and adult games.

I liked animal crossing but the graphics made me want to puke. It also seemed like Harvest Moon without the farming after awhile.

Mike. Don't you get it, Mario is in most of those titles. Mario kart 64 and tennis were only popular because of the freakin name mario! Soul Caliber 2 was on all the systems and people only liked the GC most because fo Link! Also its not my opinion that the systems were let down its psyhical proof. N-64 didn't even perform at its maxium capacity. Gamecube was the secondmost powerful system and got blown out in the systems war. Gamecube could of been soemthing so great but they made it crap. They WERE going to have inetrnet on it and how many internet titles do they have?

I don't really care about internet games in this generation. Mario Kart was a very good Kart game even without Mario. Yeah I know SC II came out on all three and which did it sell the most on? I don't care if you say it is because of Link or not. That is a complement to how good he is. And I aslo left out Metroid Prime and Prime 2. They are both "mature" games.

Gamecube got blown out in the systems war? When was this. The GC is doing ok. In fact for a long time the GC was second. And which system did so badly in Japan? Also don't hate on Mario or Nintendo. Do you realize where the video games would be now?

Nintendo did make a mistake sticking with carts for the 64.
The reason I stick with Nintendo is because their games are fun and they put out quality products. My brother's PS 2 won't even play purple discs because of the some drive problem. It sometimes just won't randonly play a game. Half the time it stops right in the middle of a DVD. The Xbox is working pretty well. But really if you think about it for most of the system life you haven't gotten much more than the PS2. Halo is the major game I can think of that wasn't also on the PS2. The Half-Life 2 port that is coming looks pretty good, but that was also on PC.

Kudos to the big N. Going with dvd format? Frieking Geniuses.... I don't really subscribe to Remlee's theories. Sounds like he's biased like me. Most of the first wave of sony products have been ridiculed for their unreliability. For instance, the first wave of ps2's had to have thier dvd rom tuned every six months. And the PSP had issues in Japan before they changed the little pop out cartridge thing. SO it takes a brave soul to buy first gen. sony products. I think Nintendo stuff is decent for reliability. They ripped us off on thier golden jewels though, the gameboy. I think the next generation of systems will be pretty equal in the graphics department. I really have big hopes for the next systems. As for the quality of Nintendo games... Mario is decent, and so is marioparty. Super smash bros. is a lil overrated as is Mariocart. I would rather play Gardian Hero's for Saturn. Link is OK. I really LOVE mario paint though, thats the best!!!!

Moving on Mario Rpg is a really good game. I guess I give nintendo props for thier games. WHAT THEY NEED TO DO IS MAKE A MMORPG WITH POKEMON. That would be cool. Pretty much all educated people know nintendo made the gamecube. No biggy thier Remlee.

I wouldn't be surprised to see at least a DS version of a MMORPG Pokemon game. Probably a Revolution one as well. Zelda is looking sweet check out the thread where I have the link to it if you haven't already.

Not to mention Square-Enix invested back with Nintendo. I hate to say it but Nintendo is a bit behind, they are catching up though; DS sales are great and the Revolution looks promising. The good thing about Nintendo fans are that they're loyal...not to mention easily offended, I'd really like to see Remlee post what he's talking about here at the IGN boards.

Well right now it seems Nintendo isn't going to go to the Tokyo Games Show. They have been going to it for a few years now. Right now speculation says they are going to go back to their Space World show this year. I really think that is what is going to happen they are going to have Space World or some other show like that to show the Revolution's conrtroller and it's games.


To restate from earlier posts there will be a Mario, Super Smash Bros., and Lengend of Zelda game at or close to launch. The SSB will be Wi Fi enabled. If I'm not mistaken an Animal Crossing game will be on the system as well. It will be a great game to use to go online.

I dont like nintendo. Im a sony/microsoft person. They should make microny, or sonsoft... that'd be sweet. I only like sony for the PSP, and i only like xbox for the 360
