I was taking to my friends earlier today, and this subject happened to come up. I thought it would make an interesting thread here so I made it.

What is the word or phrase you live by and dedicate yourself to, if you have one? Mine is "Speed is Life," which means several things- The fact that I beleive in lving life through adrenaline and impulse, or the fact that I love anything that goes fast.

What's yours, if you have one?

Just be yourself everyone, you don't need to change for anyone or be what other people tell you to be, just be who you are and you will go far in life than just copying someone else's example.

You are the only one that can choose what you do and how you feel, just relax and enjoy yourself, you can find a source of amusement in any moment and you have all the time in the world, so be happy!

Hmm... I have a middle finger for one of the ways of life(pretty obvious), a hatred for being someone else, and a liking for the bizzare, and disturbing parts of life.

There you go. Or... You get what you see. Enjoy it or frame it, or take a picture just to use as a dartboard.

I actually wouldn't mind my face on a dartboard. Be sure to hit my eye!

My philosophy is centered almost entirely on the teachings of the bible. Trying to get completely centered on it.

Hoochman : Some of my philosophy is from the Bible, but not much. Being a female metalhead that happens to believe in Christianity is tough if you participate in metal forums. Being a female who wears boys' clothing and isn't into girly stuff is tough when you are just wanting to be yourself. How do I deal with this? By telling the ones who hate to hate all they want, and doing what I do best. What I do best is being myself.

I don't let anyone but authority figures tell me how I should be. If a whiney priss wants me to be like them... Well... I've got a finger for that.

I know. Not exactly a nice way to put it, but I kinda stopped being what most would call nice after being bullied. I'll help someone who hasn't got my bad side, but if you got on the wrong side of me, don't even look at me in the eyes, because I will show the person I want them to learn a lesson.

understanding yourself is important i.e. what motivates your daily activities as well as your long term goals, also learning to be quite and listen to others than yourself is just as important. I just realized there is a symbol for the thoughts I'm trying to describe and it is called a yin-yang. Balance, understanding, listening, learning, empathy, humility, all qualities and philosophies that I try to live by.

In the multitude of words folly is not lacking, but to restrain your speech is wisdom.

I think the most important thing for me day-to-day is to think before I say something or react hastily to a conversation. Oftentimes what you say to someone has the most damaging effect, because there are those times when you can't take it back by whichever way you try to make up for it, and/or reword it.

Well, there are a lot of times when I wished I would have said what I wanted to say, however, there are a lot of more times when I wished I hadn't said something I said.

I have three I live by

The first is "Live and Learn"
The second is "Don't look back"
The third and definitely my fave "Give it All"

mine is quite simple indeed.
"bide your time and hold out hope" in short dont give up because just as easily as today has come it will soon pass.
Or even when things are hard its ok because they will soon be over.
Or pain is easily inflicted but it to fades to nothingness after time.

I think my "life-philosophy" changes over the time and depends on the current needs. Generally I prefer to be a calm and relaxed person, so I guess my philosophy is mostly "don't worry, be happy",lol

I always liked the phrase "Don't worry, about a thing, cause every little thing, is going to be alright," by Bob Marley. It's a quote from one of his songs, and that line always gives me hope for everything, such as the survival of our beloved ~sakura~.
