I also prefered the first generation. It was back in the day when the phrase "Gotta catch'em all" had meaning, and was fun to do. The original games and anime were great. Nothing cheesy, manageable amounts of pokemon, and Team Rocket actually had some bite to them, and were not a running gag. Now, Team Rocket's a dead and gone joke, the pokemon count has gone up to a ludicrous 649, and "Gotta catch'em all" is now more a chore than anything else.

I like the original generation the most, but appreciate the features the newer generations have to offer. Take the battle frontier, for example. I spent hours and hours trying to accomplish stuff there.

I like original best, but I got ruby a couple months before I got Crystal, and it and its unique, not cheesy Pokemon will always have place in my heart. Pearl sucked. There was nothing unique, except Lucario, and the game had stupid stuff, like Poffins and Underground. But have you seen some of the Gen 5 pokemon? They look pretty awesome, and at least imaginative. Sazandora is cool!

I love Pokemon but I can't exactly place one as worst. Each one had something new and exciting to bring to the table.

Though by far my favorite will always be Johto for 2 reasons. 1 being that you were able to travel back to Kanto and there was some plot there with badges. 2 being that this introduced Tyranitar, my absolute favorite pokemon ever
