It all depends. I can agree with Davideo about FFVII, but it just wasn't anything revolutionary. If I had to put a game that changed the future of videogames, it would be either Metal Gear Solid, or Grand Theft Auto 3.

Metal Gear Solid introduced a whole new element into videogames, and that's the element of surprise and sabotage. There weren't many games at the time that used these elements (except Tenchu, and soon to follow, Hitman). It brought a whole new idea of games into light, such as the Splinter Cell series. Even to this day the Metal Gear Solid series continues, and the games seem to have only gotten better (except for the anime style FMVs of MGS4, corney) and constantly push what is expected in games of this genere.

Now Grand Theft Auto 3 didn't bring anything new in the gameplay department(cuz 1 & 2 already existed) but rather took the type of game and inserted it into one of the first full scale 3D open city maps. No other game at the time had maps in full 3D that even compared to GTA3s' large map of Liberty City. It brought a whole world to run free in and do as you please. The game only got criticism not due to the violence, but due to the fact that you could pick up hookers to regain health...and still the series was so large and powerful that the negative criticism didn't hurt it's overall sales, but instead helped the game to become one of the most well known game series ever made (aside from Mario, Sonic, and MGS).

So that's why I feel these two game series' will always have a huge place in gaming history, not for their memorable plots, or levels, but for the impact they had on the future of games made after that point. Without these games, many games today wouldn't be the same, if they would even exist at all.

Due to the sheer amounts of time I spent playing them, pokemons red, blue and yellow. However the Half-Life games were mind-blowing. Man, I also need to include The Elder Scrolls Morrowind (the glitches I used were insane). I can't forget Call of Duty. I know some people hate, but that's only if they're terrible at it and I only stop playing when I max out lol.

I have to say my favorite video game would have to be Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, while it definitly had its share of flaws, the scenery was so serene and beautiful i would spend tplenty of time just walking around and viewing it, even more so when mods started coming out that were able to enhance and magnify its brilliance, i immensly enjoyed the story line, and i love how much freedom you have, the ability to do so many things and have it feel so realistic, to me it is the utmost experience so far (waiting on elder scrolls 5)

I agree with pi0x It is hard for me to decide my favorite game, because there are just so many of them, and different types as well. I may have to go within categories for this, I hope nobody minds.

RPG:
Xenosaga(all three)
Tales of Symphonia
Final Fantasy VIII
Shin Megami Tensei Series.

FPS:
Halo Series
Call of Duty Series
Medal of Honor.

Action Adventure:
I'm a big fan of spiderman so I may have to go with that.

Strategy:
Fire Emblem for GBA.

Fighting:
DOA Series
Tekken Series
Soul Calibur Series.

||Honorable Mentions||
Resistance Series
Dragonballz Budokai Tenkaichi 3
Sonic Series(minus Sonic and the Secret Rings or whatever it's called)
and many more...

PS. List is subject to change, and all games said before honorable mentions are technically number ones, and sorry for the list format with no descriptions. and sorry for not being extremely decisive.

Marathon... that series is amazing! you can get it for free at http://source.bungie.org/index.php?title=Get_Marathon

Basically Marathon was an old FPS, made in the DooM and Duke Nukem era. One thing set Marathon apart from the others, the story. Terminals scattered throughout the levels provided the most unique and compelling game of it's time. Bungie did an amazing job on storyline too, a massive universe compiled by the producers that can compete even with today's game storylines.

Words cant describe how amazing it is to read on through the terminals and travel through the massive universe that Bungie created so many years ago. If there were a newer version continuing from the storyline made into modern day games, there would be so many opportunities the game could present.

All in all, Marathon is an awesome game, multiplayer is nothing short but excitingly fun, and i highly recommend everyone to download it and try it atleast once.

My favorite game would have to be, hands down, Savage2.

It's the best team oriented game I've ever played. It's a RTSFPS game, the commander plays the game as a classic RTS like Starcraft. He builds tech, towers. and buffs(debuffs enemy) for the rest of the team which plays the game in 3rd person or first person. The Comm gives all the main orders on what to do. There's also squads and squad leaders to help with tactics and Strategies. Best part is your squad leaders are not just appointed players that give small orders to there squads. They get a small buff that boosts there stats as well as increases there regen rate and any squad members near by. Oh and lets not forget they place squad spawn portals. Another great thing is the units. they are diverse from each other in good ways. One unit in particular is your builders which allow players to help build and repair buildings and towers placed by the Comm. Plus if no Comm is present, they can build any of the buildings. You also have your scouts, savage, legionnaire, chaplain, and melee, range siege units. And that's just the Human side.

It's hard to choose

1) Crash Bandicoot (any PS1 series)
2) Spyro the Dragon (any PS1 series)
3) Super Mario (1,2,3)
4) Pokemon (Blue,Red,Gold,Silver)
5) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Black ops
6)Fallout: 2,3
I'd say I like Spyro the most because that was my first game.

There are only two games that really had a big impact on me.

Crono trigger
Had amazing story and the best role playing game play to date. It was awesome that there were so many endings and i still have not come close to beating them all.

Pokemon yellow
The first video game that i ever played. It was the coolest thing ever. The role playing elements were perfect and the pacing was amazing. To this day i still wish i had my original game cartridge.

So yeah i am a big rpg fan.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
