i want to do an endurance run of a game. I'm going by "giant bomb .com's" definition of one which is , playing a game with a live commentary from one person who plays it along with a person who watches and comments. I think it would be really fun to do, post on youtube and maybe get some laughs doing it.

Any ideas of which game i should do it on?

1 : It needs to be a game that has some length to it (over 20 hours at least, but could be over 100)

2 : needs some good WTF, or just plain comedic moments.

3: Not to much grinding (no fun for the viewer) , and heavy on the story elements.

4: It doesn't matter if the gameplays bad, it just has to be fun to watch.


The two that GiantBomb.com did were:

Persona 4: funny jrpg, some great funny moments, alot of good dialogue.

Deadly Premonition: new cult game that is quirky and enjoyable despite obviously bad mechanics of gaming. (murder mystery heavily influence by "twin peaks")

So... any ideas.

So any of the Final fantasy games. Kingdom hearts 1 or 2. Legends of dragoon. Or for some harder games ninja gaiden series. OR older ones would be like metroid. Here are just some ideas I had. Plenty of other good options.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
It's tough, fun, and great for speedruns, but can take a good amount of time if it's your first play through. Gamecube/Wii.

Any Battletoads game
Nail-rippingly hard and lots of sudden changes in gameplay for surprising variety. It's really satisfying when you kill something.

I Wanna be the Guy
You like the classics, right? It's like all of your favorite classic games have come back and twisted into a nightmareishly difficult platform game that wants your blood. It's funny, sadistic, and full of WTF that will keep you busy for a long time. It's a freeware game you can download for the PC.

Kaizo Mario World
A somewhat brief, but very difficult and famous hack of Super Mario World. Swearing may ensue from playing this game.

Banjo-Kazooie
It's difficult, fun, colorful, child friendly, and an all round great platforming game. N64.

jc2p2, some good suggestions, but i have played some, and i would prefer if the humor was a bit more offbeat ( and that the game is less known, so it's less likely that people have played it).

Lagslayer, some good games on your list, but i was looking for more story based games, i need the characters to have dialogue so the viewers aren't just listening to commentary on the game play (plus i don't think i could beat battletoads on a good time line, and Kaizo Mario is way outta my skill range [have played the other ones, banjo is one of the reasons i join here]).

some games i was considering were:

Tim schafer games, Grim fandango, and psychonauts, both full of fun dialogue and a lot of people want to play them, but haven't come around to it.

If nothing else maybe even earthbound; only problem is that some of the humor hasn't aged well, and it wouldn't work as well with no voice over (viewers would be reading text, and if it was funny i would either have to delay on commentary or commentary would interrupt before they finished reading.)
