Gasp, books! I know, I know, some of you struggle through Dick and Jane but the other members can post their favorites.

I haven't read any good fiction lately but some awesome non-fiction titles are:

The First American: The Life and Times of Benjamin Franklin
by H.W. Brands

and

Dreams from My Father
by Barack Obama

My Top 5

1. Catcher in the Rye
2. Flowers for Algernon
3. Lord of the Flies
4. Robinson Crusoe
5. Deathwatch

Some great books there, and those are pretty much the only books I really like. I've only fully read maybe 8 books in my life...

I'm not much of a reader, but "Dune" is incredible. I also (not tryinig to sound goofy here) really enjoyed the 3rd Halo book, "First Strike".

If I was still in school, I'd DEFFINATELY read Halo for a book report. I've always wanted to read a book based off a video game

I've read all of them, they really are impressive and probably even make you respect the game more.

And the first one really gives you the story of what exactly a Spartan is, and just how much better they are compared to normal humans, pretty awesome.

Good books.

I want to read the Princess Bride at some point. That is a funny movie. I like Harry Potter pretty well. I haven't read the Lord of the Rings. How to Win Friends and Influence People is a good one to read. It is very ingenious. I have heard about a few others that I want to read. I may try to get them for Christmas, or get them to read over Christmas break.

OMG, you MUST read The Princess Bride... it puts the movie to shame! The sword fighting is so cool... and the comments... *drool*

The Lord of the Rings is a good book, it can get a bit tedious at times, but it is a good book. I read it during summer break after Fellowship came out in theaters... took me two months to read it all. There is a few things that they left out that I am sad about, like Tom Bombadil, but yeah. And I think the addition of the Elves to Helm's Deep worked well for the movie even if they made that up on their own.

What do you mean by "the comments" ?
I tryed to start the Hobbit and it was very tedious.
I really like the wit in Harry Potter, and how something that seemed small plays a major role.
I have heard of a book called The Da Vinci Code, and heard it was good.

Yeah, supposedly the verision I read was the "good parts version" and the author puts in his own little comments here and there... it is so funny!

Never really saw The Hobbit as tedious... a fast read for me really.

I have to agree with you about Harry Potter, Rowling is an amazing writer to attract as wide an audiance as she does.

I have also heard that The Da Vinci Code is good. It's the sequel to Angels & Demons, which my friend is currently reading (also an excellent book he says). Both are by Dan Brown if you want to find them. I plan on reading both after I finish with The Dragonriders of Pern and the Icewind Dale Trilogy.
