I have watch a decent amount of anime and came to the conclusion that DEATH NOTE was my favorite even though i disliked the ending. I was hoping that someone would suggest something similar to this anime, or even a really good humor/romance that isn't something common like inuyasha.

If you haven't seen it I urge you to, its available for free anywhere but please dont watch the Japanese movie made on it ((it was really bad))

Similar to Death Note huh? Well I'm guessing you mean plot-wise. Well one really good anime which is similar is Code Geass but I think that might fall under the "common" catagory. If you haven't heard of it you really should give it a chance, especially if you liked Death Note. (It follows the same idea as Death Note with an anti-hero type theme).

As for humor/romance, I'd say try Chibi Vampire (Karen). It is about a vampire who gets nosebleed instead of sucking blood. It is very funny and I highly recommend it.
