Pitching a Softball overhand is kind of wears you down because of its weight and size. Men also pitch softballs underhand too though . Not sure why its called "soft"ball. Those things aren't soft at all TT-TT

That's the reason why. In softball, regardless of gender, pitching is underhand. In baseball, regardless of gender, pitching is overhand. You probably just watched a woman's softball game and not a man's.
