Their was a Sonic game released in 1993 called SegaSonic The Hedgehog. It was the first Sonic arcade game and the first appearance of Mighty the Armadillo. It was only released in Japan and Europe.

In 1990, Lucasarts began developing NES games, and their first one for the system was a port of Maniac Mansion. Originally, the programmers contemplated bringing the Famicom version to North America, but then rejected the idea and instead made a completely new game. It used a battery save instead of the passwords in the Famicom Maniac Mansion, and also added a theme song for each character. A customized version of the SCUMM engine was written for the NES Maniac Mansion.

In the early 1990s, Douglas Crockford, the programmer in charge of producing the NES Maniac Mansion, wrote an essay entitled The Expurgation of Maniac Mansion, discussing the challenges of porting the game to the NES and having to contend with Nintendo of America's censorship policies. As NES games were not allowed to have any profanity, religious, political, or sexual content, some material, such as Nurse Edna's dialogue and the Playboy calendar in Dead Cousin Ted's bedroom, had to be cleaned up or removed. Crockford said that this was perfectly understandable, as console games are targeted more towards children than computer games, but he added that some of Nintendo's policies made no sense whatsoever. In particular, he did not understand their policies on violence in NES games (an arcade machine in the game named "Kill Thrill" was changed to "Tuna Diver" because of this). Crockford argued that most Nintendo games contain violence, including the Super Mario games, “and the only motivation [for killing enemies] is that they are there”, but apparently it was acceptable so long as blood or the word kill were not used. Tails was originally suppose to be a recon like Mario's suit in SMB3, but he was changed to be a fox because of Mario and SMB3 , I think Tails was suppose to be just called Miles Prower and have only one tail that flew like Mario's, but copyrights .

time for some pokemon (sorry if some have been said, i didnt read all the facts)

so you all know how arcanine's status in the pokedex is legendary right... well thats because the original plan was for him to be a legendary, but due to last minute changes this idea was set aside.

you know how in the first season ash sees ho-oh in the sky... well some would say so? but as we all know ho-oh is second generation. Why this happened is because the original plan was to have ho-oh as the main legendary instead of mew and mewtwo in the first gen.

now for a long explanation... I'm sure that some of us have noticed the resemblance between a baby kangeskhan (sorry if spelled incorrectly) that because the original plan was to have cubone-->marowak-->kangeskhan but once again due to last minute changes kangeskhan was decided to be a single pokemon. and that is how missingno came to be because the game designers didnt have time to properly write out the marowak that evolves into kangeskhan so they took him off the map, got rid of his sprite and deleted his number off the dex (hense missingno or missing number) and that is also why upon leveling missingno evolves into kangeskhan.

pokemon was originally called pocket monsters but because of the creation of the show pocket monsters just didnt fit.

the three legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres have a slight easter egg in their names articUNO/zapDOS/molTRES... this was not done by accident for you see this is the order the birds were designed in.

The creator of Zelda: Ocarina of Time deliberately made the Water Temple easier in Master Quest because too many people complained about the original one.
