Well you are a genuinely nice person. LOL. I dont go much further than offering to help people carry things when they look overburdened, and other minor things like that.

Next time I need money I know who to ask. lol, j/k

I think I do/would do all the things that you listed, with some exceptions though. I don't think I'd pick up a hitchhiker who had his face hidden or something like that, and also, I probably wouldn't stop for people with car troubles at, say, 1am on a deserted street unless there was a child or elderly person inside. I might offer them the use of my phone, but I would be a bit reluctant to get out of my own car.

I agree with noelia, The ONLY time I pick up hitchhikers is if I have someone with me. I usually get in the middle of fights if there are children involved for the sake of the child; so I can relate to the hazardous way of life lol. I'm always cautiously optimistic about those who stand on street corner holding signs simply because there was a study done where they found that a good 75% of the people doing that actually have a lexus or better, and a minimum of a 4 bdrm home. The ones I actually do things for are the ones who hold up signs that are COMPLETELY honest. I saw one a while ago that read "I just want a beer" so I got him a beer and he left. It's just funny how people seem to think they can doop others out of THEIR hard earned money just because of a sob story written on cardboard with a sharpie... - good question to ask yourself.. Where'd they get the sharpie? If they have no money, where'd the sharpie come from?

I won't pick up hitchhikers, but if they're homeless I offer to buy them a meal. If they say no, then I know they didn't really want my money for food. Helping someone out, I'd put probably about an hour into it if I had nowhere else to be, but then I'd try and find a way out. I like to be helpful, but I'm not going to interrupt my life too much for someone I don't even know.

As btown said, don't give some randome guy money, who know where it's going.

Ok here's what I think:

If a person is doing SOME sort of work or service for money (playing music, washing car windshields, making cheap posters) I'll give money, regardless of what they do with it. They have earned it. If a musician is playing, I'll usually sit and get entertained for 2 minutes, and not take advantage, but pay him for that service.

If some homeless dude comes asking me for money, and he's doing SQUAT to earn it, I get angry. I'm poorer than he (I'm just using "he" for simplicity) is; I have a loan! I worked my butt off in college and work, so I can support myself, and I am actually poorer than he is. And he want's me to give him money?! The least he could do is sing or something! Or hold the door for people. I will however buy them a meal, because I know where the money is going.

It depends on the stranger, sometimes you can't help them doing something unusual or doesn't seem right. I would help them if they really need help.

I can think of many instances where little children were left unattended at swimming pools and amusement parks (What the heck, hello, parents and staff!?) where I had to help them find their parents or siblings.

I swear I saved this one kid from drowning. I don't understand why he was left unattended in the regular swimming pool when he obviously couldn't swim that well.

It is just common sense, but apparently people can walk past a crying/distressed child without batting an eyelash.

As for homeless people.. I don't give them money. I don't like the idea of where that money could go. I wouldn't pick up a hitch hiker, either. I would feel really uncomfortable and vulnerable with a complete stranger in my car.

If it is a kid... I'll go as far as taking him/her to a security guard or finding its parents. But if it is on an adult.

I don't think I would take hitchhikers, but if there is a guy on the side of the road i'd toss him an apple if I have one on me, but I would not want to give them money, because I don't know what they would use it for...

I'm part of the Kiwanis family being a member in Circle K (related to Key Club) for my university. So we do community service all the time for strangers, whether it be serving the homeless, delivering meals to the elderly, helping out at elementary schools, or just dancing at the senior citizen center to keep them company. It's so much fun!

Wel I wouldn't go too far and it would depend on the situation he was in need of as well. I'm a pretty nice guy and help fairly everyone I can, where I can. But there is limits to how much you should help someone for a lot of reasons. They take advantage, they lie and con at times, and aren't always easy to trust but like I said it all depends on the person and the vibe I get from them. Though even at times that can be wrong too so watch who you help out and how much you help them out, just a friendly tip...

Depends, if a person is asking me for money I first ask for what, if it´s something I find reasonable I look at their clothes, if their clothes are fashion clothes but not practical clothes I will refuse, a person who doesn´t know how to handle money doesn´t deserve money.

When it comes to services it depends on if I got time, if I got time I ask what they want me to do and if I feel like I can do that and feel the situation could really use me then I help out, but only if the person either simply can´t do it or is going to help me.

When it comes to hitch-hikers if they are walking as they hitch a ride I let them in, if they are standing still waiting for a ride I don´t let them, they don´t deserve it because they did not have any intention of putting any effort into getting from place A to place B to begin with, worst of all is if it´s in a city, then I rather honk at them loudly as I pass by.

So basically I help those that try to help themselves.

I don't pick up hitch hikers. ( You want dad to kill me? )

I don't give money to beggars, but to workers.

I just help out people who don't look for help and trying to solve their problems themselves. Even if you're using a wheel chair and you need to use the stairs, unless I see you trying to go up or down the stairs, I wont help you. I'm that nice . ( This just applies for strangers )

But there are some exceptions of course. Like for emergency cases, accidents, like there's someone drowning, someone accidentally dropped a candle and it started fire... those kinds of stuff.

I would only help a stranger if I didn't feel to threatened by him/her. I definitely wouldn't hop in to his car if he asked me to. Hopefully that answers the question.

I would stop to help someone on the side of the road if they're car was broke down. If I'm in the right mood I'd probably pick up a hitchhiker as well. If i see someone needs help I usually do whatever is needed to help the person. Even though people seem to be scared of me

Just enough to have him/her get to where the person needs to be or what she/he wants without me doing anything stupid or bad.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
