I don't really think that you can virus scan a PS3, but my friend had that too, you shouldn't have those issues unless you made your own discs to play on your PS3. Please list everything you did before it started freaking out. My friend played his during a lightning storm, and then it started glitching out until it dyed.

Personally I don't know how you would've got a virus on your PS3 unless you were downloading stuff off the net maybe. Still, most files that could even potentially hurt your PS3, it blocks them from what I seen...Ohh in this prolly better off in video games maybe, people will see it more...

There is no way you could have a virus on your ps3. This is because all that there is to a ps3 is a BIOS (On boot), a looping firmware, and the program that loads from a disc or from your hardrive. There is no way of executing a third party ps3 executable on force because none of the 3 can be loaded at once unlike on a computer, 1 program/process at a time. This problem with the ps3 is most likely has to do with a hardware based error. A certain chip in the ps3 may be partially damaged or temporarily damaged due to a factor like a lot of dust.
