I've just returned to read this thread again, and it has only just now finally occurred to me that this discussion is silly. How are a bunch of Internet forumers like us gonna do anything to change the world by endlessly going back and forth over issues until we're screaming curse words at each other? Nobody with any real governmental influence ever comes to sites like this one, so they will never hear what we have to say. We're just spouting useless retoric and opinion -- we're not actually getting anything done, because we can't.

Therefore, I abandon all my earlier arguments. What happens, happens. But at least I'm in college, so I'm safe from the Draft.

safe from the draft? [laugh].... it wouldn't take long for the government to undo that

if the war got bad enough, you won't be worrying about a draft.... you'll be worried about staying alive

Thats because most people ignore it. Tho i'd ignore it too if people were starting to starve because of the price of gas and i could do something.

And yes war eminent. As clearly explained in the new risk(which only last 5 turns). However. Who says war has to happen anytime in our lives...

No one says it has to happen but regardless it still will... Well i think ive said this before... Alright... Why do you think we are going to war? your own personel opinion. Me? i say its because Iraq, ECT feel threatened by Americas power. And their presence in their countries. War does not have to happen.. but thats like saying America doesnt have to police the world.

Well let me tell you a little insider story you will only hear here on 'reality' presented to you by john. Anyways. My dad is at the top end of a major supply base in kuwait. You know what he pays for his gas per day? 52 cents per gallon. Now if you don't know anything about supply and demand let me tell you...... When you have something its price is going to depend on how much you have and how much people want it(and the market value of course). Well if you don't have enough the price is going to have to go down if the demand for it is steady. But if you have more than enough supply or not enough demand the price goes down so you can sell it. Kinda an overview....... BUT WAIT!!! Variables. Like shipping. Which isn't 2.50 per gallon, plus some mark up charges(still doesn't add up to 2.50), labor (nope still not 2.50 per gallon. The only thing we can conclude is that maybe our supply isn't enough? That sounds like a good idea. So if we can't refine enough oil, that means that our price is going to go up seeing the demand is high. And don't try to say their isn't a high demand for gas over there. The number he gave me that he used every day is a rather high number.

Oh and i got the 2.50 from the aprox. differance between what we and they pay.

War maybe pointless, but there is nothing that can really be done to prevent it. Us can do nothing and do you think everyone in Iraq shares your view?

The US's reasons for war is a paradox: To create peace. But in order to have peace you must prepare for war. Its a rather troublesome issue that only people who truely are riteous can do. Other nations boo on the us. Saying that the reasons were all wrong. But if you take a look at it and see the whole picture it really wasn't that bad. We removed and evil dictator, mass murder, and enemy of the west. We can now fight alquida and other terrorist groups more concentrated, although this wasn't the goal it is what is happening. And we were able to liberate millions of Iraqis. What more do you need?

War is inevitable, although, I do not agree with war, and I HATE the thought of killing and whatever.. I am an American, and I do support the kids over there, even if they are dying for a senseless and horrible cause... WWIII in the next 10 years? Hardly.. my bet is that we will have a liberal president after *sigh* G Dub, so he will more then likey just finish up the job in Iraq, and avoid all the bad stuff..

We're gonna need a liberal president to balance out all of the conservative mistakes, and about two presidents later(if Earth still exists) we're gonna need a conservative president to balance out the liberal mistakes.

Thats the wrong attitude. The world requires more and more conservitive views to keep it together. Until it inevitably falls apart. But that can only happen and also sucessesfully be rebuilt at the climax of the chaos. Not now, not 50 years ago.

Well about a draft, there probably won't ever be one. Armies don't need to be big anymore. big for destruction purposes anyways. If the US army had 10 more million people in it... It wouldn't realy make a difference.

Too much of a view is a bad thing, whatever view it is. Both conservatives and liberals are needed to keep things balanced. Please, stop treating either side as "bad". Is this what's left of the so-called "freedom" in America? Isn't everyone supposed to be allowed to believe exactly what they want to? It seems more like if anything happens over there, conservatives blame liberals and liberals blame conservatives.

I agree with you on that... It seems like you can't have a view on anything, its like you a shuffled into a party, and you stick with that... Politicians are so f-ed up... Bush is f-ed up for getting us into this HUGE mess in Iraq, we should have never been involved.. they've been fighting there for thousands of years, and we should have just left it at that.. getting involved only throws us into the situation.. and do we want to be involved with countries at constant chaos? I mean, we've got ghettos here that need to be absolved, the unemployment rate isn't getting better, and people are dying from crimes and snit everday... I think we should focus on our own bullsnit before we get into everyone elses..

And no, the next World War won't be anytime soon, everyone is too scared of us to really pull anything, we are a HUGE superpower, with HUGE superpower alliances.. nobody will want to mess with us... The ONLY chance that anything major will happen is if N. Korea decides to fire a nuke, then it will be easily absolved by fired a bunch back at em'.. and nobody is going to do anything about it because they are too scared to stand up to us...

Thats a really stupid idea, because the idea that the us would fire a nuke and commit politcal suicide is attrocious.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
