Electric robot masters are common in Mega Man games. In fact, just about every Mega Man game has an electric robot master in it. Electric robot masters are common just like cold/ice and fire/heat robot masters. Cloud Man is an electric robot master from Mega Man 7, which is the game he made his debut in.

Background- Cloud Man was originally a weather robot. His job was to study atmospheric conditions and to study storms. He even worked at an atmospheric research lab. Because he was made to go up into storm clouds he has no legs and instead hoovers.

He was requited or some sources say he was stolen by Dr. Wily. Regardless he was modified by Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily kept Cloud Man's weapons as they were powerful, but Wily designed him for combat in his latest scheme. In fact, Cloud Man was one of the first 4 robots that helped Wily escape from Prison. Wily had always planned he would one day get arrested.

After breaking Wily out of Jail he took over an atmospheric research lab that was partially on the ground while the top part was in the clouds. He eagerly waited for Mega Man. Cloud Man though his enhanced combat skills would help he prevail against Mega Man.

He put up a good fight but was defeated by Mega Man. Given how his CD data list him as active. It is highly speculated that after his defeat at the hands of Mega Man. He was freed from Wily's control. It is also possible he was rebuilt and went back to studying the atmosphere.

Appearance- As stated Cloud Man does not have any legs. He has hoover jets because his main job was to go up into the clouds. He has artificial clouds around his hoover jets. He has electric prongs on his back, shoulder and the top of his helmet. The prongs allow him to use his electric attacks. He mostly has orange, coral, purple, and green armor.

Personality- Cloud Man will chase an opportunity if one presents itself. He is very proud of his job and his abilities. However, during storms he can become care free. He does have regret that he does not have legs like his peers and cannot wear shoes like his peers can. He also does not like Lightning Rods because they divert his attacks. He is also confident in his abilities.

Attacks- Cloud Man can be a tough opponent. He can create wind that can blow the player/opponent off the screen into the pit. He also tries to hoover right into the player/opponent. His most severe attack is his powerful Thunder Bolt. His Thunder Bolt can give extra hits. It can also strike the ground and linger. He can also summon lightning bolts to do extra damage.

Weakness- His weakness is the Danger Wrap. The Danger Wrap will engulf him in a water bubble and cause his hoovering to mess up. This causes him to fall to the ground. Also the Danger Wrap is a water based weapon this will also stop him from using his electric attacks and will temporarily short him out. If the player dashes when he does his wind attack they likely won't be blown off. Right before he charges an attack there is a delay the delay can be used to get shots in.

If the player defeats him they will get his Thunder Bolt Weapon. The Thunder Bolt is a very powerful weapon. It can be used to light dark passages, power machines in certain stages, and when it hits an enemy it splits doing extra damage.

Cloud Man could be counted as an air themed robot master since part of his stage is in the air. However, he is considered more of an electric robot master, because his attacks are electricity. His weakness being water based is likely a reference to how water and electricity do not mix. He does not like lightning rods because they divert his attacks from his intended target.

It is hinted that he is still active in the Mega Man franchise. As stated he likely went back to work doing research on storms and the atmosphere. It is not clear though if he was freed from Wily or totally rebuilt. What is clear though is he is one of the few robot masters that does not have any legs as he has hoover jets instead of legs.

Fitting what he was before he was modified by Wily. His stage has a lot of weather themes. It can be rainy, the rain can be changed to snow, and there are lightning bolts in his stage. The player also has to ride cloud platforms to get across the air part of his stage.

Mega Man 7 is one of my favorite mega man games. As a Meteorologist I'm glad they put a weather themed robot master as one of the 8. This concludes the Cloud Man biography.
