Every Mega Man game has at least a few robot masters that are based off of elements. Mega Man 5 is no exception with Crystal Man serving as the ice themed robot master. However, despite Ice being referenced in his stage there is no ice physics. Crystal Man made his debut in Mega Man 5 and has appeared in other games since.

Background- Crystal Man was created after the events of Mega Man 4 by Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily created Crystal Man to create crystals so Wily can sell them to make money. He is also sometimes used as a fortune teller were he will tell others their fortune for a fee, when its another way for Wily to make money. Basically, he was to help finance Wily's operations. He was also designed for Combat as Wily gave him the ability to shoot sharp crystals as well as regular buster shots.

During the events of Mega Man 5 he attacks along with his peers in Wily's latest scheme. After his attack he retreated to his base. His base is ice crystal themed with several traps in it. However, despite being ice crystal themed there is no ice physics in it. He anticipated Mega Man's arrival. Mega Man confronted him and Crystal Man fought well but was defeated by Mega Man.

After Mega Man 5 Crystal Man was rebuilt and participated in the events of Mega Man IV for Game Boy. He once again has a crystal themed base rigged with dangerous traps compared to his debut game. He also has a key that Mega Man needs to get by defeating him to lower the shield around Wily's latest fortress. Mega Man made his way through his stage and once again defeated him.

He has since made cameo appearances in other games. It is revealed that he still creates crystals and likes to tell the fortune of others. Once again, this is a way for Wily to keep his costs and operations up.

Appearance- Crystal Man is a human based robot. He has a Crystal Mask over his mouth. He has a Crystal Gem on his forehead/helmet, crystals on his shoulder pads. He also has a large torso with a crystal on it. He appears to be wearing white shoes. His armor is mostly a dark teal. His crystals are a blue aqua like color. He also has a cannon on one of his arms that he uses to fire a regular buster shot. He is slightly taller than Mega Man.

Personality- Crystal Man prefers to keep to himself a lot of times. He loves to create crystals and tell fortunes. However, he is described as being mysterious. Some of his colleagues do not trust him as he can be shady at times. Him being shady is likely due to his fortune telling and selling fake crystals at times. Due to telling fortunes he does not like people or even scientists that use logic as reasoning. This is because logic debunks his fortune telling.

Attack- In Mega Man 5 Crystal Man likes to jump around a lot. He loves to fire regular buster shots while he is jumping. He will use his crystal eye weapon which can do damage. The Crystal Eye can also bounce off of walls and split into smaller pieces causing extra hits.

In Mega Man IV his attack pattern is similar though he often spams his crystal eye in this game more. He does not jump as much in this game, although when he does its still high.

Weaknesses- In Mega Man 5 he is weak to Gyro Attack. Gyro Attack can be aimed upward to hit him when he is jumping. Also Gyro Attack works by cutting his crystals disrupting his pattern and his ability to spam crystals. In Mega Man IV he is week to the Charge Kick as the Charge Kick slices his crystals in Mega Man IV. However, the opponent has to wait to him lands before hitting him with charge kick. Given how both weapons slice it is likely he is weak to other weapons that slice or can cut.

If the player defeats him they will get his Crystal Eye weapon. The Crystal Eye can be used against hard armored enemies. It can also be fired against walls to bounce to deal more damage. The weapon works the same in Mega Man IV.

He does not really like scientists because science and logic debunk his fortune telling. It is also interesting he does not like scientists because he was created by one. Therefore, he has a complex relationship with Wily. He is loyal to Wily as Wily created him, when Wily ask him to do a job he does it. He also does not hesitate to make crystals so Wily can sell them to make money. However, he does not really trust Wily because Wily is a scientists and science and logic easily debunk his fortune telling.

Crystal Man has appeared in other games always working for Wily or at least trying to make money for him. He is considered an Ice themed robot master even though there is no ice physics in either of his stages. He is one of the more popular Robot Masters from Mega Man 5 as he along with Stone Man, Charge Man, Napalm Man, and Gyro Man have made the most appearances from Mega Man 5.

When he is not fighting as stated he tries to earn money for Wily by creating crystals or fortune telling. Although he can create real crystals. Sometimes he gets shady and sells fake crystals. This could be another reason why he does not like scientists in general is because they could probably tell which crystals he makes is real and which one is fake.
