Mega Man 4 like most Mega Man games gave us a lot of different type Robot Masters. Ring Man is no exception. He made his debut in Mega Man 4 he would later appear in Mega Man IV for Game Boy. Since then he has appeared in other games as well, so lets learn about him in the Ring Man Biography.
Background- He was created by Dr. Cossack mostly to run the space exploratory research lab. His ring toss was originally designed to study the ring of plants. However, Dr. Wily held Cossack's daughter hostage and forced Cossack to work for Wily. Wily took Ring Man and modified him.
Dr. Wily modified Ring Man and designed him loosely off of Quick Man. Wily wanted Ring Man to defeat Mega Man in a duel. He created him with quickness, though not as fast as Quick Man, and a powerful ring boomerang type weapon.
He built a base in the space exploratory research lab that he helped manage. Except he designed with a bunch of traps and obstacles for Mega Man to get through. When he saw Mega Man he was full of rage, due to being programmed for that purpose, and attacked Mega Man. He put up a good fight but Mega Man was able to defeat him ending his threat and restoring the Space lab back to normal.
After the events of Mega Man 4 Dr. Cossack like most of his robots did not rebuild him. However, Dr. Wily rebuilt them. He was rebuilt by Wily and used in Wily's latest scheme to take over the world in Mega Man IV for Game Boy. He was one of the first 4 robot masters Mega Man had to defeat. Once again though he was defeated by Mega Man.
Appearance- Ring Man is a human like Robot Master. He is often seen with dark red and gold armor. He usually has white hands and his feet can either be red, gold, or even black depending on the game. He often has rings around him that he can throw. He also has cannons on him that he can throw ring boomerang like weapons. On his helmet it looks like he has a pole with several rings around it.
Personality- Not much is known about his personality before Dr. Wily modified him. Considering he helped run the space lab he was likely an effective manager. After being modified by Wily he developed an aggressive fighting personality since that is what he was designed/modified to do. He is a master planner and strategist. He is very confident in his abilities. He also shows no mercy in battles. However, he can be over confident and can sometimes brag which can get on his colleagues nerves.
Attack- Ring Man can be a difficult boss he is fast and loves to charge at the player as well as jump. He also loves to spam his ring boomerangs. In Mega Man IV he has the same pattern but can jump higher.
Weakness- Ring Man's main weakness is Pharaoh Shot as it blinds him and really keeps him grounded. Also he has a little bit of delay when throwing a second ring boomerang this can open him up for a very short time for hits.
If the player defeats him they will get his Ring Boomerang. In Mega Man 4 his ring Boomerang is a weapon that can return to the player if it does not make contact. If it makes contact it can do multiple hits. In Mega Man IV the Ring Boomerang can be used not just in combat but to retrieve items from walls.
Here is his CD Data
A ring robot master whose purpose is to defeat Mega Man
Good Point- Excellent Strategist
Bad Point- Too Confident
Likes- Ring Toss and games that involve rings.
Dislikes- Children
Ring Man disliking children could be due to several reasons. First, it could be that children try to play with his rings. Second, it could be because he was modified for combat only he is not social. Also, Ring Man's stage is dark themed and given how he is weak to Pharaoh Shot it could be he is very sensitive to light and heat.
Like most Robot Masters from Mega Man 4 Dr. Cossack did not rebuilt him instead Wily rebuilds him for Mega Man IV and other games he appears in. As stated he was also loosely based off of Quick Man, but he is not as fast as him. Moreover, he does seem to hold a grudge against Mega Man for defeating him in every encounter when its Ring Man's over confidence that gets the best of him. This concludes the Ring Man Biography.
