Mega Man 4 was another huge hit for the Mega Man franchise. This game also gave us like other Mega Man games some unique robot masters. Toad Man made his debut in Mega Man 4 and has appeared in other games. As his name implies he is based off a Toad, so lets learn about him.


Background- Toad Man was created by Russian Robot Scientists Dr. Cossack to help in agriculture. His original job was to create rain with his rain flush weapon. Originally, his rain flush weapon would cause rain clouds to form and help drought stricken areas.

When Dr. Wily took Cossack's daughter hostage and forced Cossack to work for him. Wily modified Toad Man into a combat robot. His rain flush was now equipped with acid in it to cause acidic rain which hurts agriculture. It is likely that Dr. Wily wanted to use Toad Man in hold the world hostage in his latest scheme to take over the world.

Toad Man took over a water treatment plant and was holding the water supply hostage and he threatened to release his now harmful rain under orders from Wily. Mega Man stormed his base and defeated him ending his threat. He also liberated the water treatment plant and ended Toad Man's threat during the events of Mega Man 4.

In later games it was revealed that Dr. Cossack did not rebuild him. But given how he appears in other games working for Wily. It is very likely that Dr. Wily rebuilt him to once again cause havoc but he is once again stopped by Mega Man or even Proto Man in some games.

Appearance- Toad Man as stated is based off of a toad. His head and face is fused with his torso. He has green feet, white hands, and is green overall.

Personality- Before being turned into a combat robot he was skilled at science especially the earth sciences. He also was a great jumper which he took pride in. He loves to Jump in his spare time. However, he can be hard to control and can sometimes go rogue in missions. It is also speculated that due to a defect he cannot hear well. He also hates snake man because snakes usually eat Toads.

Attack- In most games he loves to jump around his room trying to land on the opponent. His main attack is to keep dangerous acidic rain that can even corrode metal.

Weakness- Toad Man has several weaknesses. First, his attack pattern is simple he jumps around his pattern can be manipulated. He is also not very durable compared to the other robot masters in Mega Man 4. He is also weak to several weapons. Drill Bomb does a number on him and keeps him from using his rain attack. In other games Ring Boomerang and Napalm bombs also shred him.

He is an agriculture robot master who before being turned into a combat robot could create rain to help drought areas.

Likes- Jumping especially long jumping

Dislikes- Snake Man

As mentioned the reason he does not like Snake Man is because snakes are enemies of Toads. Him not hearing well maybe a reason why he sometimes does not follow orders.

Toad Man is the second animal themed robot master behind Snake Man. Not only is he an animal themed robot master. Technically given his background he could be considered a Nature themed robot master since his job was originally to help nature. As also stated he is not one of the more durable robot masters he shares that with Cut Man who first appeared in Mega Man one. Like most of Cossack creations he was not rebuilt when Cossack was free and pardoned. Given that he does appear in other games it is implied that Wily likely rebuilds him.
